Life is Mobility - A young male patient presented with fixed flexion deformity of the knee and cavovarus deformity of the foot. Joint preservation surgeries were performed on both the knee and ankle, involving a combination of tendon transfers and corrective osteotomies. we helped restore his gait after 30 years of impairment.

Today, he’s walking normally and couldn’t be happier.
Here’s to reclaiming mobility and quality of life!

"IFASCON 2025 in Patna was a truly enriching experience. I had the opportunity to present two talks—one on Lisfranc arthritis and another on the surgical indications for fixing calcaneal fractures. I also had the privilege of moderating several engaging sessions. It was a pleasure reconnecting with mentors, teachers, and friends, and I deeply appreciated the warm hospitality extended by the Bihar team. I'm honored to continue serving as an Executive Committee member in the new team under the leadership of Dr. Ajoy Shiv and Dr. Abhijith Bandhopadhyay. Looking forward to many more exciting IFAS events in the year ahead."

Spent a truly special evening visiting an old patient of mine. He had come to me with advanced Charcot arthropathy of the ankle and hindfoot, complicated by poorly controlled diabetes and vascular issues. Multiple centers had advised him to undergo limb amputation due to recurrent wounds and inability to walk.

After carefully optimizing his condition, we went ahead with joint stabilization surgery — and today, he’s walking again and doing incredibly well.

He’s been inviting me to his home for a while, and it was a joy to finally visit and see how far he’s come. Moments like these make it all worthwhile. 🙏🏼 Dr.Abdul Gafoor PM ❤️

June Highlights 🌟

📍 June 1 – Honored to present on Autologous Osteochondral Transplantation at the “Save the Knee” CME, BHM Kannur — a topic close to my heart, which earned me the gold medal at KOACON 2014. Grateful to Dr. Jyothi Prashanth for hosting such a warm and insightful meeting.

📍 June 8 – Proud to be a part of the organising team for the 22nd Arthrocon, focusing on the latest in shoulder arthroscopy. A well-attended and highly appreciated biennial gathering of peers.

📍 June 19–20 – Faculty at Arthroscopy Academy Mumbai: hands-on cadaver workshop at KEM, moderated live ACL surgery, and participated in dynamic panel discussions.

📍 June 22 – Spoke on Subtalar Arthritis and moderated sessions at the IOA–IFAS CME, Kochi.

📍 June 28 – Wrapped up the month at the BOFAS–IFAS Advanced Foot & Ankle Arthroscopy Course at Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore.

Honored to participate in the Annual Meeting of the Association of Arthroscopy Surgeons of Kerala, where I had the opportunity to moderate the ankle arthroscopy session and lead a panel discussion on sports-related foot and ankle injuries.
