Take a look back at our first AI Youth Hackathon 🚀

Over two days, more than 40 students aged 12–18 came together to tackle some of Jersey's biggest challenges, developing AI-powered solutions covering affordable housing, healthcare, transport, community support and more.

In just 16 hours, they transformed ideas into working prototypes before pitching them to an expert judging panel, showcasing incredible creativity, collaboration and digital confidence.

A huge congratulations to every student who took part, and thank you to our mentors, judges and Prosperity 24.7 for helping make the event possible and supporting the next generation of Jersey's digital talent.

In our latest Meet Our Members, Dr Danica Damljanovic from Sentient Machines shares how Digital Jersey has supported the business by providing connections, collaboration and a network of like-minded people.

That’s a wrap on the Youth Hackathon 2026 🚀

What a brilliant two days at the Digital Jersey Academy!

43 students came together to tackle real-world challenges, explore ideas and turn them into working solutions.

After kicking things off with ideation and their first build sprints on Day 1, yesterday saw the teams head into their final build, supported by mentors along the way, before getting pitch-ready and putting the finishing touches on their solutions.

Then it was time to take to the stage! 🎤 Each team presented their idea to our judging panel, bringing together two days of creativity, collaboration and problem-solving.

And the winners are… 🏆

🤖 Most Impact: Team Herve Hacker

A huge congratulations to our winners and to every student who threw themselves into the challenge. It was brilliant to see how much the ideas developed in just two days. 👏

Day 2 of the Youth Hackathon 🚀

After a busy first day exploring challenges and developing their initial ideas, our teams are back at the Digital Jersey Academy for Day 2.

Today is all about bringing those ideas to life, refining their solutions and getting ready to pitch them to our judging panel later today.

We’ve already seen some brilliant creativity, collaboration and problem-solving from the 43 students taking part, and we’re excited to see what they come up with!

What a brilliant start to the Youth Hackathon 2026. Today, 43 students tackled real challenges, explored new ideas and started building solutions that could make a difference.

Can young people do a better job than adults at solving Jersey's biggest challenges?

That's exactly what we're putting to the test over this week.

Over the next two days, 43 students have taken over the Digital Jersey Academy to tackle real issues facing our island. Loaded with open data, industry mentors and plenty of creativity, they're identifying problems, exploring opportunities and turning their ideas into working prototypes, and if today is anything to go by, they might just have a point.

The Academy has been buzzing with collaboration, fresh thinking and ideas that challenge the way we usually approach problems. Sometimes a different perspective is exactly what's needed.

A huge thank you to Prosperity 24/7 for supporting the Youth Hackathon and helping give the next generation the opportunity to develop new skills, solve real-world problems and experience what it's like to bring an idea to life.

Over the next two days, students from across Jersey will work together to design, build and pitch tech solutions to some of the island's biggest challenges.

Good luck to everyone taking part. We can't wait to see the ideas you create, the skills you build and the solutions you bring to life.
