Patient Safety Month 2026 is officially begun!

Yesterday, we officially launched our Patient Safety Month at Beacon Hospital, bringing our commitment to safe, effective and people-centred care to the forefront.

The launch was officiated by Dato’ Dr Mohamed Ibrahim, Medical Director, and Mr Hoe Cheah How, CEO, marking the beginning of a month-long initiative dedicated to promoting patient safety and raising awareness among our staff and healthcare community.

This year’s focus, aligned with World Patient Safety Day 2026, is “Safe care for noncommunicable diseases” with the slogan “Safe care for life!” Together, we can help prevent avoidable harm and make every step of the healthcare journey safer.

Throughout the month, we’ll be having various activities and engagement sessions at our Patient Safety Month booth at Level 1, Lobby.

We are pleased to share that Dato’ Dr Lee Joon Kiong, Consultant Orthopaedic & Arthroplasty Surgeon, was invited to PruBSN’s monthly Health On Air podcast.

During the session, Dato’ Dr Lee discussed the common concern of hand numbness associated with prolonged gadget use, including its possible causes, symptoms to look out for and available treatment options.

He also shared insights into orthopaedic day surgery procedures, including carpal tunnel release, trigger finger and other suitable procedures that can be performed as day surgery.

We thank PruBSN for inviting Dato’ Dr Lee to be part of Health On Air and for providing a platform to raise awareness of orthopaedic health and treatment options.
