Every birth professional eventually works with someone carrying trauma — seen or unseen. This training is for midwives, doulas, nurses, gynaecologists, kraamverzorgenden, childbirth educators, who want to understand what that actually requires of them. Only 14 spots available.
Holding Space for Trauma is a unique training in which the focus is not on resolving trauma or enlarging the resilience of the person giving birth. Rather, you get a full spectrum understanding of HOW to give care that is truly attuned to the needs of people who carry residues of trauma — in pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
You'll develop an understanding of how trauma is stored in the nervous system, and in which ways and forms it can show up in pregnancy, birth and the (extended) postpartum. You also learn how not to pathologise someone with trauma and what post traumatic growth can look like.
Moreover, you'll develop an understanding of how your own nervous system works as a care provider — how it's taxed by working in the birth field, and what you need to not only provide trauma informed care, but to support your own physical, emotional and psychological health.
Because trauma informed care is actually a form of burn-out prevention — and the key to finding continuous work-satisfaction as a professional in pregnancy, birth and postpartum care.
