Hapū māmā is getting stuck into **takiri prep**, carefully preparing the materials to create a beautiful **wahakura** for her first pēpi. 🧺💚

With pēpi due anytime now, this wahakura will provide a safe, warm and loving place for her little one to sleep — made with aroha, by whānau, for whānau. 🤎

TE IHO TĀTAI Ā RONGO🍃

Join us for a kaupapa Māori wānanga exploring Te Iho Tātai ā Rongo - FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder). FASD describes the effects of alcohol exposure during pregnancy on the brain, body and it can also impact individuals across their lifetime.

Te Iho speaks to the essence and heart of the child. Tātai reflects connection, genealogy, and the relationships that shape us. Ā Rongo draws on the atua of peace, reminding us that wellbeing is nurtured through calmness, care, and safe, supportive environments.

This wānanga is grounded through a blend of brain-based education and mātauranga Māori centered around understanding the wellbeing of our tamariki. Together we will explore Pūrakau (some content may require adult supervision as it explores the creation of humans) and tākaro to deepen our knowledge around FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder)

Whānau, caregivers and kaimahi are welcome to learn, reflect and grow.🌱

🍃 HE WHIRI, HE WHATU 🍃
Come join us in a holistic approach where we explore and wānanga on the whakapapa of rāranga (weaving) and tap into a creative space where we practice forms of rāranga (weaving) using a medium of ribbon and cardboard to create contemporary rāranga boards.
