In 2014 the ACC Workplace Safety Management Programme 'tertiary level' status was achieved. Mandatory Ministry of Health Certification is undertaken 3 yearly. We also offer a warm welcome to all visitors and invite those considering private medical and surgical treatment to meet with staff and view the hospital facilities. The Royston Centre, adjoining the hospital, provides specialist consulting rooms as well as physiotherapy and radiology facilities (including private MRI and CT). This Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we’re supporting the importance of raising awareness around bowel health, recognising the signs of bowel cancer, and encouraging early conversations and screening.

Early detection can save lives. If something doesn’t feel right — don’t wait to get checked.

Common symptoms can include:
• Changes in bowel habits
• Blood in the stool
• Ongoing abdominal discomfort
• Unexplained weight loss or fatigue
• Early detection significantly improves treatment outcomes and can save lives

Our specialists and hospital teams are committed to supporting patients with timely access to diagnosis, treatment, and care.

This month is also a reminder to have conversations with whānau and encourage regular screening where appropriate.
