We promise our physios have your best interests at heart, we just have a different way of showing it 🫶🏼

Because getting results from physio doesn’t always mean choosing the easy option.

Sometimes your muscles need to be challenged. Sometimes an exercise needs to feel hard. And sometimes your physio is going to encourage you to do the thing you’d probably rather stop doing after rep number five 😅

Of course, there’s pain… and then there’s pain.

Our physios are trained to understand the difference between discomfort that can be a normal part of building strength, capacity and confidence in your body - and pain that’s telling us something needs to change.

The goal isn’t to make you hurt. It’s to progressively challenge your body in a way that’s appropriate for you, so you can actually make progress in your treatment and get back to doing the things you want to do.

So when your physio smiles and says, “yes, that’s why we do it”…

We promise, it’s said with love 🤭

Your shoulder’s not actually “fine.”

Neither is that ankle, or that back you’ve been complaining about for weeks.

Little niggles have a habit of turning into bigger problems when they’re left to their own devices.
Instead of pushing through it (again), come see one of our physios and let us do the fixing.

We’re ACC registered, so we’ll help with the paperwork - you just focus on getting sorted.

(and if you’re not sure if you’re covered, give us a call and we’ll talk you through ACC injuries)

If you feel like you’re cheating because you’re using a band to do your pull ups…

you’re not.

Jessie’s using one here for a reason - when you’re chasing your first strict pull up, ego usually gets there faster than your muscles do. You end up swinging and using momentum instead of the muscles that are actually meant to do the work.

The band takes just enough load off that your body can finally do the movement properly.

Your shoulders are correctly set, core engaged and the right muscles are firing in the right order.

That’s not a step backwards.
That’s how you build a pull up that actually holds up.

Progress isn’t always the version that looks the most impressive. Sometimes it’s the one that’s teaching your body the right habit.

Meet Indu, one of our Senior Physiotherapists 🌿

Indu has spent 12 years helping people move better and feel stronger, with a special focus on general musculoskeletal issues.

She’s also completed specialised training as a PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehab Therapist, offering tailored care and support to clients navigating their cancer journey with compassion and expertise.

At the heart of her approach is client empowerment - she’s passionate about helping people truly understand their injuries, so they leave with a clear plan and the confidence to manage their own recovery.

Outside the clinic, Indu is a proud mother and wife, loves a medical drama and has recently taken up running (& is currently training for a marathon 🏃🏾‍♀️)

Her favourite part of the job? Watching people regain their mobility and get back to doing what they love - it’s what drives everything she does.

If you’re working through an MSK issue or navigating cancer rehab, Indu’s your girl.

Dry needling gets a lot of curious (and slightly nervous) questions in clinic 👀

It’s not acupuncture, though the tools look similar. The goal is specific: find the tight, taut band in a muscle and get it to release. It’s often used alongside hands-on treatment and exercise, not as a stand-alone fix.

Think of it as one tool in the toolbox rather than “the answer.”

If you’ve been curious about it (or a little unsure), swipe through for the basics, and feel free to ask your physio about it at your next session.

(and if you were wondering, the twitch response might feel a bit weird at first too, but don’t worry, it’s a good sign. That brief cramp or shock feeling means the muscle is responding.)

Hi mums of Papamoa! 💜

I'm Evelyn, a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist in Papamoa, and I'm so excited to be back from maternity leave!
As a mum myself, I know how much our bodies go through during pregnancy and birth. Too often, women are told that leaking, pain, pelvic heaviness, prolapse, or bowel changes are "just part of having a baby." The truth is, they don't have to be—and you deserve treatment. 💜

To support more mums during Birth Trauma Awareness Month, we're offering 50% OFF Initial ACC Maternal Birth Injury (MBI) Physiotherapy Assessments.

Our two amazing Pelvic Health Physiotherapists are here to provide expert, compassionate care.
ACC may cover birth injuries including:
✨ Perineal tears
✨ Pelvic organ prolapse
✨ Obstetric a**l sphincter injuries (OASI)
✨ Levator ani muscle avulsion
✨ Pudendal nerve injury
✨ Coccyx (tailbone) injury
Not sure if you have an ACC claim? We can assess you, lodge your ACC Maternal Birth Injury claim (if you're eligible), and guide you through the process.
Whether you've had your baby recently or years ago, if you're still experiencing symptoms, we'd love to help you recover and get back to feeling like yourself again. 💜

Cupping therapy or suction cup therapy is a form of treatment in which cups are placed on specific locations of the skin.

Therapists do this to create a suction or vacuum inside the cup. This encourages the healing of a broad range of medical ailments. This also loosens the muscles and sedates the nervous system.
