Congratulations to Pacific Radiology on the opening of their expanded Wānaka clinic 👏

On Saturday, Lisa and Sara joined the official opening of Wānaka’s first MRI scanner and permanent mammography service, housed in a new extension to the Wānaka Lakes Health Centre. They sit alongside the x-ray and ultrasound services Pacific Radiology have provided locally for over 25 years.

It was a great morning to see the new facility and catch up with other local health professionals. More diagnostic imaging in Wānaka is good news for our community, and for the people we see every day.

Thank you to the Pacific Radiology team for the invitation, and congratulations on the milestone.

Starts this Tuesday: Pilates with Clodagh 🤰👶

Our new 6 week blocks begin on Tuesday 3 November.

🤰 Pregnancy Pilates: 1:30pm. Movement that suits where you are, in small classes.
👶 Mums & Bubs Pilates: 12:30pm. Safe progression after birth, and babies are very welcome!

Both are $210 for the 6 week block, led by Clodagh, our pelvic and women’s health physiotherapist.

Roadworks near the clinic. 🚧

Queenstown Lakes District Council is building a new roundabout at the intersection of Golf Course Road and Ballantyne Road. The intersection will be closed to through traffic from Wednesday 14 October until December, with a signed detour in place.

We're open as usual. If you're booked in with us over the next few weeks, please allow a little extra time to get here and follow the signage and traffic management on the way.

Strength, balance and confidence in your movement. 🌿

Our new Mobility & Balance class starts Wednesday 28 October with Laura.

It's a gentle, functional movement class combining strength, balance, mobility and flexibility exercises. A great way to keep your body strong, capable and confident, and to support good movement and independence as you age.

Class sizes are kept small, so there's plenty of individual guidance and support.

Lisa, our director, was invited to speak to the Pembroke Women's Club back on 7 September, covering women's health more broadly, with a particular focus on the areas that matter most as we get older.

One line from her talk stuck with the room: prevention over cure. So much of what we see in clinic is treatable, and often preventable, when it's caught early rather than lived with for years.

Pilates, built around the body's actual stage rather than adapted from a general class.

From Tuesday 3 November, two new 6 week Pilates blocks start, led by Clodagh, our pelvic health physiotherapist:

Pregnancy Pilates, Tuesdays 1:30pm
Mums and Bubs, Tuesdays 12:30pm

Each class is programmed around what's actually happening in the body at that stage, core and pelvic floor function, changing load through pregnancy, and how movement needs adjusting week to week rather than staying static. That's the distinction between physiotherapist-led programming and a standard studio class.
