You've probably heard about peptides. But what are they actually? 👀

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, and some act as signalling molecules that interact with cells in the body.

This has sparked interest in how certain peptides may be involved in processes related to tissue repair, inflammation and joint health. However, "peptide" is a broad term, and different peptides can have very different properties and potential applications.

👉 Swipe through to understand what peptides are, why they're being studied and why the specific peptide matters.

Many people associate football injuries with ankle sprains ⚽ However, the knee is also commonly affected, especially during twisting, turning and contact movements.

While ankle injuries are visible and well-known, knee injuries may involve deeper structures such as ligaments or the meniscus. These can occur when the knee is twisted while the foot is planted or during sudden changes in direction. 🦵

If symptoms such as swelling, pain along the joint line or a feeling of instability persist, it may indicate a more significant knee injury that requires further assessment.

Football injuries are commonly associated with recreational play, especially during periods like the World Cup season when more people return to the sport ⚽

These rapid movements place stress on the lower limbs, making injuries such as ankle sprains, knee ligament sprains, muscle strains (including hamstring or groin strains), and impact-related injuries more common.

Understanding how these injuries happen is important for prevention and early recognition. 😣

Late-night matches, extra time, penalties… and then back-to-back games ⚽📺

Your favourite teams aren’t the only ones under pressure — your neck and back might be too.

Taking short breaks between matches, standing up, and doing simple stretches can help reduce stiffness and improve comfort throughout the tournament.

What happens after a hip labral tear diagnosis? Not all hip labral tears require surgery.
😵‍💫

Treatment is not the same for everyone. Many cases may begin with non-surgical management such as physiotherapy and activity modification. If symptoms continue, further assessment may be needed to guide next steps. In some cases, hip arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) may be considered.

Understanding your options is the first step towards managing hip pain effectively. ✅

Athletes place high demands on their hips during training and competition. 🏃 Over time, repetitive movements such as running, pivoting and squatting may place increased stress on the hip joint and contribute to conditions such as hip labral tears.

It is not limited to professional athletes — active individuals can experience similar hip issues as well.

👉 Understanding how hip injuries develop is the first step towards recognising persistent symptoms.
