At the Joint Office of Academic Medicine (JOAM), the team supports connections between SingHealth and Duke-NUS Medical School to shape the future of Academic Medicine, enabling collaboration in research, education and innovation to improve patient care.👨‍🔬

Their work isn't easy to put in a box (and honestly, that's what makes it exciting!). One day it's running a grant call that encourages clinician-researchers to connect with the right collaborators in the laboratory. The next, it's providing grant support to turn a bold idea into a programme that changes how patients experience care. JOAM supports programmes that bridge worlds — the lab and the ward, the classroom and the clinic, the vision and the reality.🌉

We have some of the best minds in medicine, research and innovation in our AMC. JOAM helps support the infrastructure, partnerships and resources so they can do their best work. 🧡✨

Through the Health Manpower Development Plan, our clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals and pharmacists hone their craft across disciplines and borders. They return to build programmes, shape models of care, and raise standards across our institutions — from neonatal and cardiac care to paediatric ENT and beyond.

We are deeply grateful to The Ngee Ann Kongsi for their steadfast support of The Ngee Ann Kongsi Distinguished Scholars Programme, and to Mr Frankle Widjaja and Mr Oei Hong Leong for their unwavering commitment to the Scholarship for Advancing Education in Nursing and Allied Health, established in memory of their father, Mr Oei Ek Thjong. Your belief in developing healthcare talent fuels innovation and touches the lives of countless patients and families.

Congratulations to our 136 award recipients. Your pursuit of mastery is a commitment to service — and to paying this gift forward through better care for our patients and community.

Thank you to Mr Yeoh Oon Jin, Board Director, SingHealth, for gracing the ceremony and joining us to celebrate the awardees.

Together, we are defining tomorrow’s medicine.🧡✨

Helping our seniors thrive in their communities 🧡

SingHealth has been conferred the "His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Prize for the Promotion of Healthy Ageing" by the World Health Organization (WHO) at the WHO Assembly in Geneva on 20 May 2026.

This award recognises SingHealth's integrated and person-centred approach spanning healthcare, urban planning, and social wellness, allowing seniors to age safely, independently, and with dignity in the communities they call home. A key part of this is our Healthier EAST@SG initiative, now part of the WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities alongside 1,700 cities worldwide.

This recognition builds on SingHealth's Best Cross-Organisation Collaboration Award at the International Forum on Quality & Safety in Healthcare in Oslo in March 2026, reflecting our growing standing in population health on the global stage.

Closer to home, we gathered today at Heartbeat@Bedok for our annual SingHealth Community Forum, where health and social service partners came together to strengthen collaborations and explore innovative, technology-enabled care solutions for our seniors.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff, partners, and the communities we serve. Together, we will keep working to empower our seniors to live and age well! ✨

Celebrating excellence and dedication 🧡

Last week, we came together at the SingHealth Excellence Awards Ceremony 2026 to honour colleagues who exemplify distinction in their fields. A total of 66 outstanding colleagues were recognised across 16 categories - spanning healthcare leadership, education, and research – including clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacists, administrators, and ancillary staff.

We also conferred the title of Emeritus Advisor on Ms Pang Nguk Lan, in recognition of her lifetime of service and enduring contributions to SingHealth. Through her distinguished leadership, she played a pivotal role in advancing patient safety, quality, and risk management across the clusters.

From delivering care to the work that drives it forward, each awardee plays a vital role in improving our patients’ lives and supporting those around them.

Thank you for inspiring us with your passion and dedication, and for making a meaningful difference every single day.✨

Those who work with Prof Ng Wai Hoe know this isn’t just a quote. It’s something he lives by. And yes, it’s also why psychological safety isn’t only a buzzword here. (Spot SORA — our Speak Up Orang Utan, who’s always encouraging stronger voices and safer spaces 🦧😉)

Known for his open, friendly approach, Wai Hoe has worked closely with the Healthcare Services Employees' Union (HSEU) to make changes that matter to staff — from supporting bursaries that help workers and their families plan for the future, upskilling career pathways and progression to realigning bonus disbursements. He has consistently spoken up against abuse and harassment, standing firm for the safety and well‑being of those who care for others — because feeling safe to speak up should never be optional. 🧡

It’s a proud moment for the SingHealth family as we congratulate our Group CEO, Wai Hoe, on being conferred the Medal of Commendation Award at the NTUC May Day Awards 2026. Nominated by HSEU, this award recognises leaders who have made a real difference to workers’ wages, welfare and work prospects. Thank you HSEU for the strong partnership and nomination! 🔥

All smiles as patients, caregivers, partners and healthcare professionals gathered at this year’s Singapore Health Inspirational Patient and Caregiver Awards (IPCA) 2026. It was an afternoon of celebration and getting together, as we honoured 60 awardees comprising patients, caregivers, volunteers and patient support groups. ✨

It was very heartwarming to witness the camaraderie between our awardees and their healthcare teams, as they received the awards together. It is in moments like these where we recognise the healing power of community in navigating one’s healthcare journey, which medical treatment may not be able to fully afford.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to our recipients for sharing your stories of strength and courage, and for showing us the sheer power and resilience of the human spirit. You inspire all of us to be the best versions of ourselves, no matter the circumstances we face. 🧡

Congratulations to all of our Singapore Health Inspirational Patient and Caregiver Awards (IPCA) 2026 awardees! 🎉

Art has the power to heal, comfort, and uplift and now, it will do just that across our wards and corridors. 🎨

On 4 May 2026, the Life Art Society gifted 38 paintings to four SingHealth institutions: National Dental Centre Singapore - NDCS, National Heart Centre Singapore, SingHealth Community Hospitals and SingHealth Polyclinics — a gift that will grace our spaces and bring warmth to patients, families, and staff for years to come. 🧡

Founded in 1972, the Life Art Society has spent over five decades nurturing Singapore's artistic community, organising more than 500 painting activities and exhibitions.

Research is more than discovery. It's a responsibility. 🧬

Every breakthrough in medicine begins with a question, but behind every question is a person who trusted us with their health. That trust is something we never take lightly.

Our RICE (Research, Integrity, Compliance, and Ethics) team is the backbone of every clinical study we undertake. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that research is conducted with the highest standards of integrity — safeguarding the rights, safety, and welfare of every participant, every single time.

If you're someone who believes that how we do research matters just as much as what we discover in defining tomorrow’s medicine, we'd love to have you on the team.
