Celebrating Lily’s 5-Year Anniversary at CGFS! 🎉

Lily began her journey with CGFS as a bachelor’s-level intern in 2020, and in 2021, she joined TAPS as an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, where she supported early childhood educators in navigating challenging behaviors within the classroom. During this time, she also facilitated Incredible Years groups for both children and parents, providing parent education and skill-building support.

After completing her master’s internship with Child Guidance, she transitioned into a full-time outpatient therapist role and, over the past several years, has expanded her work into both outpatient and community-based therapy. She is especially passionate about supporting clients and families involved in the Juvenile Court System, as well as refugee clients through Project Thrive.

“I feel incredibly grateful to walk alongside clients and their families through both moments of crisis and moments of celebration. The most rewarding part of my work is witnessing clients grow, develop self-worth, and learn to love themselves more fully. I believe every child is good at their core, and I am deeply honored when they allow me to support them through their journey.”

We were thrilled to participate in United Way of Summit & Medina‘s Day of Action today! 💙

With the help of our amazing volunteers, we were able to assemble over 500 5-4-3-2-1 kits to support the children and families we serve.

These kits are an important part of helping kids build coping skills and manage big emotions—and we couldn’t have done it without their time, energy, and dedication.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and United Way of Summit & Medina for making such a meaningful impact in just one day! 🙌

We are pleased to announce that our President & CEO, Cassi Galloway, has been chosen for Class 43 of Leadership Akron’s Signature Program! Over the next ten months, Cassi and fellow participants will embark on a unique journey to broaden their knowledge of Greater Akron, foster impactful relationships, and develop the skills necessary to lead with greater insight, empathy, and a deepened sense of community.

Leadership Akron’s Signature Program immerses leaders in the dynamic environments, key organizations, and critical issues that define our region. Participants will spend the year collaborating with local institutions, examining both the opportunities and obstacles facing Greater Akron, and forging lasting cross-sector connections that continue well beyond the program itself.
