Can we be honest about something for a minute? 💙

Right now a lot of people are scared. Jobs feel less stable than they did a year ago. Groceries cost more. Savings aren't stretching the way they used to. And the uncertainty of not knowing what comes next is its own kind of exhausting.

And most people are carrying all of that quietly. Because everyone around them is carrying it too, and it starts to feel like there's no space to actually say "I'm not okay."

Here's what that kind of sustained stress does if it doesn't have anywhere to go:
💠 It disrupts your sleep even when you're exhausted
💠 It makes you short with the people you love most
💠 It creates a background hum of dread that makes it hard to be present
💠 It starts to feel like anxiety is just who you are now- not something happening to you

Because when we normalize chronic stress, we stop treating it as something that needs attention. We just absorb it. And keep going.

Financial Stress can be traumatic but often passed over.

You don't have to wait until you're in crisis to deserve support. Financial stress is real stress. Economic anxiety is real anxiety. And therapy is one of the most concrete things you can do to keep it from quietly taking over everything else.

If you've been putting it off because it feels like one more thing- we see that. And we're here when you're ready. 🤍

We're currently accepting new clients.

The economy is doing something to all of us right now. And most of us aren't talking about it. 💙

It's not just stress about money. It's the 3am spiral when you can't stop running numbers. It's snapping at the people you love because you're scared and there's nowhere to put it. It's the shame of feeling behind when it seems like everyone else is holding it together.

You're not falling apart. You're responding to something real.

Financial anxiety doesn't stay in one lane. It touches your sleep, your relationships, your sense of self-worth, your ability to be present in your own life.

And it doesn't just go away when things stabilize — not if you've been white-knuckling it alone for months.

Therapy isn't a luxury for when things are good. It's often most important when things aren't.

Can we talk about the difference between surviving and actually healing? 💙

Because a lot of us learned how to survive really, really well. We learned how to keep moving after loss. How to hold it together when things fell apart. How to function through pain that nobody around us acknowledged or had language for.

And that is genuinely something. Survival takes strength.

But here's the thing nobody tells you: the same skills that helped you survive can quietly work against you once the immediate danger is gone.

The emotional walls that protected you start keeping out the people you actually want close. The hypervigilance that kept you safe starts reading normal situations as threatening. The self-sufficiency that got you through starts feeling like loneliness.
That's not a character flaw. That's your nervous system doing exactly what it was trained to do.

Healing is the process of teaching it something new. And that doesn't happen through willpower or time alone. It happens in a consistent, safe therapeutic relationship where you can actually slow down and look at what's underneath.

If you've been "fine" for a long time but something still feels off — that feeling is worth paying attention to.

We're currently accepting new clients in DMV area. You don't have to keep just getting through it. 🤍

👉 Send us a message or visit our website to connect with one of our therapists.

Hey everyone - we've missed you and we are so glad to be back! 👋💙

We want to take a moment to reintroduce ourselves because if you've been thinking about therapy, we want you to know we're STILL here.

Though we have been continuously treating our patients, we realize that we needed to check in with everyone.

At T.H. & Associates, we work with adults, adolescents, families, and couples who are navigating some of life's hardest moments.

Whether that's healing from trauma, working through relationship challenges, managing anger, addressing substance use, or just feeling like you've been stuck for way too long — our therapists show up for you with care, no judgment, and real clinical support.

We serve clients in the DMV area and we are currently accepting new clients.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. We get that. But you don't have to have everything figured out before you reach out- that's literally what we're here for. 🤍

This month we'll be sharing more about our team, our services, and the support available to you. Stay with us.

It's January 7th. How Are Your Resolutions Going?

Has it Been Challenging to Keep? Are You Struggling with Motivation? Does this Year Feel Heavier?

Here's why New Year's resolutions are difficult to keep & sustain:

They rely on willpower instead of nervous system capacity.

You can't "force yourself" to stop snapping at your partner when your nervous system is dysregulated.

You can't "just be less anxious" when you don't have tools to down-regulate.

You can't "think positive" your way out of a panic attack.

Change doesn't happen through willpower. It happens through building capacity.

🔥 Our Emotional Regulation/Trauma group will be launching SOON.

Learn to regulate before you react. Build capacity before you commit to change.

Real tools. Real healing. Real sustainability.

Same Fight. Different Day.

You had the same fight again.

Different topic. Same pattern.

One of you shuts down. The other pursues.
One of you criticizes. The other defends.
One of you needs space. The other needs reassurance.

And you're both exhausted.

Here's the truth:

You're not fighting about dishes, schedules, or money.

You're fighting about unmet attachment needs neither of you knows how to communicate.

🔥 NEW: Our Couples/Attachment therapy group starts this month.

Learn to:
- Recognize your attachment patterns (anxious, avoidant, secure)
- Break the pursue-withdraw cycle
- Communicate needs without blame or shutdown

Goals: Rebuilding Connection. New Tools. Improved Partnership.

Don't let 2026 be another year of the same fight.

Why Do Small Things Set You Off?

Someone cuts you off in traffic—you rage for 20 minutes.
Your partner asks a simple question—you snap.
A coworker gives feedback—you spiral for days.

You tell yourself: "Why can I handle big crises but fall apart over small things?"

Here's what's actually happening:

Your nervous system is dysregulated. And small things become big things when you're already running on empty.

This isn't about anger management. It's about nervous system capacity.

🔥 NEW: Our Emotional Regulation/Trauma therapy group starts this month.

Learn to:
- Recognize when you're dysregulated BEFORE you react
- Build capacity to handle stress without exploding
- Understand why your body responds the way it does

Real tools. Real healing. Real regulation.

"I Can Stop Whenever I Want To & I Don't Need Help"

That's what you keep telling yourself.

But the truth is:
You can't get through a stressful day without a drink.
You can't socialize without using.
You can't sit with difficult emotions sober.
You've tried to stop—and couldn't.
You don't need support-even when it is hard.

Here's what you need to hear:

Addiction isn't a moral failure. It's a nervous system problem.

You're not weak. You're using substances to regulate what your body doesn't know how to regulate on its own. You need support to get you through.

🔥 NEW: Our Addiction/Sobriety/Recovery therapy group starts this month.

This isn't about shame or willpower. It's about understanding WHY you use—and building the tools to heal what's underneath.

Real support. Real recovery. Real community.
