Earlier this month, we celebrated National Health Center Week—and now we’re looking back at a week filled with community, connection, and appreciation. 💙

From recognizing the staff and volunteers who make our work possible to welcoming more than 220 guests to our annual Open House, this year’s celebration reminded us what it means to be a Community Health Center.

We connected our neighbors with local resources, offered free blood pressure screenings and health center tours, welcomed families for food and a little magic, and heard directly from patients and community members about what ANHC means to them.

Thank you to our staff, volunteers, patients, partners, and everyone who celebrated with us!

Yesterday, Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center was pleased to welcome Brandy Seignemartin, Executive Director of the Alaska Pharmacy Association - AKPhA, and Michael Hogue, CEO of the American Pharmacists Association, for a visit to ANHC.

Their visit provided an opportunity to share more about the role pharmacy plays within our integrated model of care and to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing pharmacy services, community health centers, and the patients we serve.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with pharmacy leaders at both the state and national levels and to highlight the important work happening here in ANHC and Anchorage.

Thank you, Brandy and Michael, for spending time with our team and for the conversation about how we can continue strengthening access to pharmacy services and supporting healthier communities.

As National Health Center Week comes to a close, we're reflecting on the incredible week we shared with our staff, patients, partners, and community.

This year's theme, Innovation, reminds us that some of the most meaningful innovation in health care isn't just about new technology—it's about creating stronger partnerships, improving access to care, and supporting the whole person.

Throughout the week, we welcomed our community into ANHC, celebrated the organizations working alongside us, and highlighted how collaboration helps build a healthier Anchorage.

In a new reflection, ANHC CEO Lisa Aquino shares her vision for the future of health care in Alaska and why community health centers have an important role to play in creating a more connected, people-centered health care system.

We hope you'll take a few minutes to read her perspective.

Thank you, Anchorage! 💙 What an incredible day celebrating National Health Center Week with our community.

To everyone who joined us for our Open House—our patients, neighbors, community partners, volunteers, food trucks, performers, and staff—thank you for making the day so special. We loved opening our doors, sharing the work we do, and highlighting the partnerships that help create a healthier Anchorage. Every conversation reminded us why this work matters.

Community health centers are built on the belief that everyone deserves access to quality, compassionate care. We're grateful to be part of a community that shares that vision and continues to support one another.

Thank you for celebrating with us. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
