SPA ROAD TRAVEL ADVISORY | BEGINS JUNE 22, 2026

New roadwork work on Spa Road is scheduled to begin June 22 as part of The Village at Providence Point construction project.

Crews will raise sections of Spa Road that currently dip below grade to bring the roadway into conformance with the new senior living community's site plans. Work hours are scheduled for weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The project is expected to take approximately 7–8 weeks.

Spa Road will remain open during construction. Motorists should expect periodic single-lane closures and lane shifts to the shoulder. Traffic control signage and crew members will be in place throughout the project.

Upon completion, the work will result in permanent improvements to this portion of Spa Road south of Forest Drive adjacent to the community. The Village at Providence Point thanks the community for its patience during construction.

Residents of The Village at Rockville enjoyed a beautiful day exploring the charm of the Eastern Shore on a recent trip to St. Michaels!

Along the way, the group made a special stop to pick up future residents from our sister community, The Village at Providence Point-A National Lutheran Community (under construction in Annapolis), creating a wonderful opportunity to connect and build new friendships before arrival.

The day included a visit to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, where residents explored exhibits that celebrate the history, environment and culture of the Chesapeake Bay region. Afterward, they had time to stroll through the quaint town of St. Michaels — browsing shops, enjoying the waterfront and soaking in the sights at their own pace.

A day filled with discovery, connection and plenty of smiles!

Future residents and guests enjoyed the perfect day trip with an unforgettable experience featuring renowned Chesapeake Bay photographer Jay Fleming, Photographer. From a delicious waterside lunch at Libbey's Coastal Kitchen + Cocktails to an inspiring studio visit at Jay Fleming Photography, the day offered a closer look at the people, wildlife and working waterways that make the Chesapeake Bay so special.

Attendees learned more about Fleming’s acclaimed work documenting life along the Atlantic coast and explored the artistry behind his powerful photography. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable outing and celebration of the beauty and culture of the Chesapeake Bay!

Wednesday The Village at Providence Point was honored to host nearly 200 future residents and guests for a presentation by Matt Paxton.

Paxton is a downsizing and decluttering expert, speaker, author, radio personality and host of “Filthy Fortunes,” the two-time Emmy-nominated television show “Legacy List with Matt Paxton,” and the extreme cleaning expert on “HOARDERS.”

Attendees enjoyed an informative and entertaining session as the best-selling author of “Keep the Memories, Lose the Stuff” encouraged them to share the stories behind their treasured keepsakes.
