September is .

It’s a time to talk more openly about mental health, share resources, and remind people that struggling doesn’t mean they have to face it alone.

It’s also a good time to talk about the fact that there is more than one path to treatment.

Dr. Vinay Saranga was recently featured by BrainsWay discussing how TMS works beyond the small area underneath the coil.

TMS targets a specific area of the brain involved in mood regulation, but those neurons are connected to larger networks involved in emotion and mood. When those neurons are stimulated, the activity can spread through those existing connections, creating effects beyond the initial treatment area.

Think of it like a ripple. 🌊

For someone living with depression who hasn’t found enough relief from medication, TMS may offer another treatment option to consider.

Mental health is never just one thing.

At Saranga Psychiatry, we believe good care means looking at the whole person, not just a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. Your mental health can be shaped by so many parts of life, including your relationships, stress, sleep, physical health, environment, and what you’re going through right now.

Our goal is to understand your whole story and create care that fits you, at every stage of life.

Because you deserve to be seen as a person, not just a diagnosis. 💚

Taking care of your mind is one of the most important ways you can take care of your life.

August is , and it’s a great reminder that wellness includes more than just physical health.

Your mental health affects how you think, how you feel, how you connect with others, and how you show up each day.

Life can get busy. It’s easy to keep going, keep pushing, and tell yourself you’ll focus on your own needs later. But your mental well-being deserves attention too.

Wellness can mean many things. It may mean finding support for anxiety or depression, getting answers about ADHD, learning healthier ways to manage stress, or simply having someone help you understand what you’ve been experiencing.

At Saranga Psychiatry, we believe mental health care should be personal, compassionate, and centered around you. Taking the first step toward support can be the beginning of meaningful change.

Summer break doesn’t always mean a break from anxiety, stress, or depression.

For some teens, losing the structure of the school year can make struggles more noticeable. Changes in sleep, mood, motivation, and social connection are worth paying attention to.

The good news? Summer can be the right time to start a conversation and get support before the next school year begins.

A child’s behavior is often a form of communication.

Anger, avoidance, meltdowns, and defiance can sometimes be signs of anxiety, stress, frustration, or emotions they do not yet know how to express.

Before asking, “How do I stop this behavior?” try asking, “What is my child trying to tell me?”

Children still need boundaries and guidance, but understanding what is happening beneath the behavior can change the way we respond.

At Saranga Psychiatry, we help families look beyond the behavior to better understand and support their child’s mental health.
