Many people think they need motivation before they take action. Often, the opposite is true. Small actions can create momentum, even when motivation feels far away.

Summer is here again!

Yes, of course, you love your children, but when school is out for the summer, you now have 8 hours of the day to feed, listen to, and entertain your kids. Schedules are thrown out of whack, sleep habits are spoiled, routines are threatened, and, of course, the dreaded “screen time” notifications are poised to pop up, reminding us about all the extra “Bluey” episodes they’re watching.

How do you continue to accomplish your own day-to-day tasks while still feeling good about how everyone else in the house is spending their time?

Working with children and teens is one of Dr. Saranga’s favorite parts of care. 💙

This stage of life is unique. Kids and adolescents see the world through their own lens, which is shaped by their environment, their family story, and everything they’re trying to make sense of as they grow.

Adolescent psychiatry isn’t just “adult care in smaller bodies.” It’s its own space that requires patience, sensitivity, and real understanding. And for many young people, even the idea of mental health care can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming at first.

The goal isn’t to label or change who they are; it’s to help restore their ability to cope with the life that’s uniquely theirs. To build tools, confidence, and emotional strength that they can carry forward.

If your child or teen is struggling, we’re here to help meet them where they are and walk with them toward feeling better this summer.

Feeling stuck usually doesn’t mean something is wrong with you, it usually means the approach needs adjusting. 💙

At Saranga Psychiatry, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Mental health is personal, layered, and often shaped by more than one thing at a time. That’s why we take a thoughtful, holistic approach—looking at the full picture, not just symptoms on a checklist.

Sometimes that means trying new treatments. Sometimes it means revisiting what has worked in the past and building on it. And sometimes it means recognizing what hasn’t helped and making a different plan forward—together.

Healing isn’t always linear, and it doesn’t happen by guessing your way through it. It happens with real attention, honest conversations, and care that actually adapts to you as a person.

We meet you where you are, listen closely, and work with you to find what actually fits—because your care should evolve as you do. 💙

Summer break is around the corner… and so are big emotions for teens.

Between rapid growth, hormone shifts, social pressures, and academic stress, this stage of life can feel like an emotional rollercoaster. One minute they seem grown, the next they’re slamming a door over something small. It can be confusing for parents, but it’s often part of normal development.

That doesn’t make it easy, though. And sometimes teens need a little extra support to navigate anxiety, mood changes, and overwhelm in a healthy way.

At Saranga Psychiatry, we’re here to help families move through this season with more understanding, better communication, and steadier support.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms, grandmothers, and mother figures!! 💐

You do so much every day, and today is your day to relax. Thank you for showing up for others, holding space for your families, and carrying responsibilities that rarely come with a pause button.

We hope you’re able to take a moment for yourself today and feel truly appreciated. 💜

A great reminder for ✨

Taking care of your mind can change the way you experience your whole life.

Read that again.

The way you think affects the way you move through the world. It shapes your relationships, your confidence, your energy, your sleep, your motivation, and even the way you speak to yourself when nobody else is listening.

When your mental health suffers, everyday life can start to feel heavier than it should. Simple tasks feel exhausting. Small problems feel overwhelming. You may stop recognizing yourself little by little.

But when you begin caring for your mind, something starts to shift.

You begin to notice moments again. You feel more present in conversations. You stop surviving every day and start actually experiencing it. Your thoughts become less harsh. Your nervous system feels calmer. You begin responding to life instead of constantly reacting to it. 💛
