Today is World Mental Health Day, and I want to gently remind you that caring for your mental health isn’t reserved for the hard seasons. It shows up in small, ordinary moments too, like pausing before you answer that email, stepping outside for some fresh air, or noticing you need a break and actually taking one. So I’m curious: if you had to describe how you’re feeling today in one word, what would it be? Share it in the comments, and know that whatever word you choose is welcome here. And if you’d like a weekly nudge to check in with yourself, The Journal Journey is free and the link is in my bio!

If things feel especially heavy right now, please reach out for support. You can call or text 988 anytime to talk with someone.

Generational wellness is a new term for me. Have you heard it before? Thanks Scott Evans for bringing this to my awareness.

The Journal Journey is back! Every Monday, I send a free journaling prompt and affirmation to help you slow down and check in with yourself. This month’s theme is the October Reset, and Week 1 is all about permission to pause. Join free through the link in my bio, and when you try the prompt, hit reply and let me know what came up.

My October is full. Kindergarten folders, PTA meetings, and a homecoming trip on the calendar. A few weeks ago I looked at my schedule and felt that familiar tightness that says, "There's no room left for you in here."

If this time of year leaves you running on empty, you're not alone, and it's not a reflection of your worth. In my new blog post, I share why October feels so heavy and three small shifts I'm using myself this month:

1. Pick your 3: choose three priorities for the rest of the year
2. Schedule rest first: put rest on the calendar before it fills up
3. Rewrite one "should": turn it into what you did + what's next

Each one comes with a short journaling exercise.

Want a little structure? The Journal Journey, my free weekly journaling program, starts Monday, October 5. Sign-up link in the comments.

Even Therapists Need a ResetLet me be real with you: my own October is full. My daughter is in kindergarten this year, and if you've had a kindergartner, you know that comes with a whole new world of school events, notes home, and things to remember. I'm also serving as co-chair of the PTA committee...

I really need to stop pulling on my face like this. Over here giving myself wrinkles. Anyway, therapists, chime in. Poker face or expressive? Which are you?

It’s only your 7th day here. It’s fine, you’re fine, we’re fine. Take a deep breath, relax your shoulders, you got this.
