What a Plum Landing Week it has been. From root beer floats to twinning with our pals… from lunch at Two Brothers Roundhouse to a beautiful Butterfly Release… from a groovy 1960s happy hour to our residents proudly repping their new Plum Landing threads — it has truly been a full and joyful week.

Today we wrap it all up with a private performance by Dina Bach and a special moment to honor the incredible tenure of our staff.

There is something undeniably special about Plum Landing. You can’t quite put your finger on it — it’s simply a true feeling of home.

🎉 It’s officially Plum Landing Week! 🎉

Today, we’re kicking off a week-long celebration honoring 64 incredible years of providing quality independent living for retirees.

For more than six decades, Plum Landing has been more than a place to live—it’s been a place to connect, thrive, and create lasting friendships. From cherished traditions and memorable moments to the vibrant community we enjoy today, we are grateful for every resident, family member, team member, and supporter who has been part of our journey.

Join us all week long as we celebrate our history, our community, and the wonderful people who make Plum Landing feel like home. 💜

Here’s to 64 years of independence, friendship, and living life to the fullest—and to many more years ahead!

Today we celebrated Jennie’s very last day of being 102 — and what a beautiful celebration it was.

Since 1992, Jennie has lovingly logged every single book she’s read. To honor her lifelong love of reading, the Aurora Public Library, Illinois surprised her with a thoughtful gift basket… and even brought their mascot Rory to join the fun.

Guests enjoyed charming teacup bouquets with bookmark centerpieces they could take home — the perfect touch for a woman whose story continues to inspire us all.

Here’s to Jennie and the joy she brings to our community as she turns the page to 103.

With the cooler weather behind us, we’ve officially turned off our boiler **for the very last time!**

As you may recall, the focus of our 2025 Annual Appeal was to replace our aging boiler system — and thanks to the generous support of our donors and a very generous grant from the Dunham Foundation, we’re thrilled to share that Plum Landing will soon receive a full boiler upgrade.

This improvement ensures our community stays cozy and comfortable for many years to come. We are deeply grateful for the continued support that allows us to carry out our mission: “To foster a warm, welcoming community where independent adults thrive with dignity, connection, and comfort.”

A very special THANK YOU to Wyatt Kraskiewicz for his incredible generosity and hard work! 🌼🌿

We were honored to be the recipients of Wyatt’s Eagle Scout raised bed project, which now has a beautiful home in our courtyard. As the proud hosting site of Troop 26, The Stone House at Plum Landing is especially grateful to see young leaders making such a meaningful impact in our community.

Our residents loved spending time outdoors in the fresh spring air, helping fill the new raised bed with colorful blooms and making memories together. There’s something truly special about generations coming together to grow community — and in this case, a beautiful garden too. 💜
