“They clipped it in the hospital”

Unfortunately, scissors may not completely release tethered oral tissue.

A CO2 LightScalpel laser is the gold standard for treating oral ties, and it’s what Dr. Kacie Culotta | Austin, TX Dentist uses for all the babies at Dr Kacie Culotta, DMD, CLC | Infant Services.

With the laser we have:
💓 A more complete release. The laser gives us pinpoint accuracy. It cauterizes tissue with microscopic precision.
💓 Lower rates of reattachment
💓 Less bleeding. The laser instantly seals small blood vessels on contact—meaning virtually no bleeding.
💓Faster recovery. Because there is zero physical tearing of the tissue, post-op inflammation is dramatically lower and healing is accelerated.

Share this to spread the word on why families should choose a CO2 laser for their frenectomy treatment.

This month we’ll introduce you to the faces behind Latched Beginnings and Austin Sleep and Airway 🥳. We’ll start with Dr. Culotta of course! When she’s not treating families for oral dysfunction and airway health, you can find Dr. Culotta enjoying an iced latte with her family exploring all of Austin’s nature. Dr. Culotta met her husband cycling from Texas to Alaska and her energy, drive, and spirit are what drive her in her practice every day.

Follow along Dr Kacie Culotta, DMD, CLC | Infant Services and Dr. Kacie Culotta | Austin, TX Dentist to learn more about Austin’s number 1 infant dentist practice.

Working with a family’s care team is our favorite thing to do. Collaborative care means that babies get individualized treatment, appropriate referrals, and significant follow up support. We always make sure a family leaves Latched Beginnings feeling like they have the tools they need for success. And we always make sure to keep your team in the loop as well.

While we know a lot about the impact of oral ties on feeding, sleep, and airway health, we don’t fully understand the WHY. There’s growing research suggesting different genetic components related to developing oral ties, but while we continue to learn- the picture is very clear.

Babies with tongue ties turn into adults with tongue ties. And those adults often need help with their own feeding, sleep, and airway health.

Follow me Dr Kacie Culotta, DMD, CLC | Infant Services and Dr. Kacie Culotta | Austin, TX Dentist for more tongue tie education for babies and their grownups.

The real reason Austin chose Dr Kacie Culotta, DMD, CLC | Infant Services for its top infant dentist 🎤🎶
Keeping the babies happy is a top priority. Sometimes that means singing during frenectomies, but it ALWAYS means making a comprehensive plan of care for your little one. That’s why we work with pediatricians, body workers, PTs and OTs, SLPs, IBCLCs, midwives and doulas. We want to make sure your little one has the best experience possible.
