At Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services, we believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in families, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and communities.

My decision to run for office is rooted in the same values that guide my work as a clinical social worker: listening, advocacy, collaboration, and helping people thrive.

For nearly 20 years, I have worked alongside individuals and families navigating trauma, grief, life transitions, mental health challenges, and systemic barriers. Those experiences have reinforced a simple truth: healthy communities require leadership that listens and responds to the needs of the people it serves.

No matter the role, my mission remains the same: helping build stronger, healthier communities where people have the opportunity to heal, grow, and succeed.

Leadership matters in every space—including the spaces where decisions are made about our communities.

As a clinical social worker and founder of Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services, I have spent my career helping individuals and families navigate trauma, adversity, healing, and growth. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that communities thrive when leadership is rooted in empathy, accountability, collaboration, and service.

I am honored to be endorsed by Senator Emerita Jill P. Carter in my campaign for Baltimore City Democratic State Central Committee in District 41.

No matter the setting—therapy, advocacy, community engagement, or public service—I remain committed to helping build healthier, stronger, and more connected communities.

💙 Healing. Empowerment. Growth.

PTSD Awareness Month 💜

PTSD can happen to anyone. It can happen after a scary, stressful, or traumatic event. This may include violence, abuse, a serious accident, losing a loved one, or other difficult experiences.

Some signs of PTSD include:
▪️ Bad memories that keep coming back
▪️ Feeling nervous or always on alert
▪️ Trouble sleeping
▪️ Feeling numb or disconnected
▪️ Feeling angry or irritated
▪️ Trouble focusing

The good news is that healing is possible.

Getting help is a sign of strength. Therapy can help you learn healthy ways to cope, heal, and move forward.

At Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services, we provide trauma-informed virtual therapy for women across Maryland.

💜 You do not have to heal alone.

The true luxury of a well-loved child is not found in expensive toys, designer clothes, or perfect opportunities. It begins with a mother who has done her inner work—who has faced her wounds, healed what she could, and chosen growth over denial.

A mother’s self-awareness becomes a child’s safety. Her healing becomes their stability. Her emotional maturity becomes the foundation on which a child learns love, trust, and self-worth. Generational change often starts long before a child is born—it starts when a woman decides to heal.

This might be one of the most important things we are not talking about enough as a society.

We pour billions into the criminal justice system, into addiction treatment, into mental health crisis intervention… and yet we still don’t prioritize teaching children how to understand and regulate their emotions. We treat the consequences but not the root.

Here’s what the research tells us:
❤️ Children who develop emotional regulation skills are less likely to turn to substances to cope with pain they don’t know how to process.
❤️ They are less likely to respond to conflict with aggression.
❤️ They are more likely to build healthy relationships, make thoughtful decisions under pressure, and navigate the inevitable hard moments of life without falling apart or hurting others.

Because when a child learns to sit with discomfort, to name what they’re feeling, to calm their nervous system instead of acting from it, they are building the most important life skill there is.

✨ Emotional regulation isn’t a soft skill; it’s a survival skill.

And it starts at home, in the small everyday moments. When you help your child name their feelings instead of dismissing them, when you stay calm during their storm instead of escalating and when you model what it looks like to take a breath, feel something hard, and choose your response instead of just reacting.

✨ You are not just raising a child; you are shaping the kind of human they will be in every room they walk into for the rest of their life. ✨

And that is not a small thing; that is everything! 💜

May the rest of this year feel like a love letter to your nervous system.

May your days become softer, your mind quieter, and your heart less burdened by things that were never yours to carry. May peace replace survival mode, and may rest no longer feel like something you have to earn.

May you experience steady joy, genuine safety, and moments that remind you life is not only about enduring hardship but also about feeling calm, supported, and deeply alive. May the months ahead bring healing that reaches places within you that words never could.
