It's another Feeding Friday! Up to 6% of people in the US have a food allergy, and babies and young children are more likely to be affected. Here's the reassuring part: current guidance says introducing common allergens early (around 4 to 6 months) may actually help build tolerance, rather than waiting. One food at a time, a few days apart, starting close to 6 months. That's the whole approach.

Save this post for the full list of allergens and how to introduce them safely, and read our latest blog for the complete guide, symptoms to watch for, and the one exception worth knowing about.

Feeding Friday: Which position is right for your little one? 🍼

Not all bottle-feeding positions are created equal, and the right one can make a real difference in how comfortable and successful feeding feels for both of you.

Swipe through to see three go-to positions our feeding therapists recommend:
🤱 Enface — face-to-face bonding that encourages eye contact
😴 Side-Lying — a gentler pace, especially helpful for babies working through a feeding challenge
🍼 Cradle — the classic hold that works well for most babies from day one

Every baby is different, so don't be afraid to try a few and see what clicks. And if feeding still feels like a struggle no matter the position, we're here to help.

"Should I wait, or should I get my child evaluated?"

This is one of the questions we hear most from parents.

We don't just look at milestones. We look at the whole picture.
Is your child learning new skills? Can they communicate what they need? Are they playing, connecting with others, and becoming more independent? Are they getting frustrated because others don't understand them?

Every child develops at their own pace. Sometimes they simply need more time. Sometimes a little extra support can make a big difference.

The good news? An evaluation doesn't always lead to therapy. Sometimes families leave with reassurance. Other times, they leave with a plan. Either way, they leave with answers.

If you've been wondering about your child, trust your instincts. We're always happy to answer your questions.

What made you decide it was time to have your child evaluated? We'd love to hear your story below. ❤️

The back-to-school season has a way of making us question everything.
Did I buy the right supplies?
Did I forget something?
Will my child be okay?
Am I doing enough?

Whether you're researching sensory tools late at night, labeling every crayon, preparing your child for a brand-new classroom, or simply taking one day at a time, your effort matters.

There isn't one "right" way to prepare for a new school year. Every child is different. Every family is different. Every journey is different.

If no one has told you lately:
💙 You're doing a good job.

We're cheering for every family as this new school year begins. 🤍

Car time = language time! 🚗☀️

The good news: some of the best language practice doesn't need flashcards, worksheets, or a backseat full of supplies, just a little intention while you drive.

Try this on your next trip:
• Narrate the drive. Talk through what you see, "there's a red truck," "we're going over a bridge," and let your child fill in the next detail.
• Play "I Spy" with a twist. Instead of colors, spy categories (animals, food, things that go) to stretch describing and categorizing skills.
• Turn questions into conversations. Swap "did you have fun?" for "what was your favorite part?" and give them time to answer before jumping in.

Every mile is a chance to build language, one conversation at a time.

Is dinner time at your house starting to feel like a negotiation? 🍝

You are not alone. Almost every family we work with has a mealtime worry at some point. A food jag that won't quit, a toddler who gags at new textures, a picky eater surviving on the same three foods.

Most of it? Totally normal. But some patterns are worth a closer look, and our new blog breaks down exactly how to tell the difference:
➡ What's developmentally typical (yes, even the picky weeks)
➡The gentle signs it might be worth a conversation
➡ What's developmentally typical (yes, even the picky weeks)

This summer, one of our adult clients said their daughter's name for the first time since their stroke. 💙

If you've ever wondered what recovery looks like, it looks like this: small, hard-won moments that mean everything. Our team walked alongside this client through every session, every setback, every attempt — and this one stuck.

Every milestone matters. Every form of communication counts.

If you or someone you love is recovering from a stroke, we'd be honored to be part of that journey. 📍 Galveston & Bellaire, TX
