It's Not Too Late to Join Ready, Set, Write!

We still have a few spots available for children ages 6–8 years old, and limited availability for ages 9-11.

If handwriting feels like a daily battle, your child avoids coloring, drawing, or writing tasks, or you're noticing that forming letters and numbers just doesn't come naturally, now is the perfect time to get support.

Our occupational therapists focus on building the foundational skills needed for successful handwriting, including:
🖐️ Fine motor strength and coordination
✏️ Pencil grasp and control
👀 Visual-motor integration
💪 Hand strength and endurance
🧠 Motor planning and letter formation

The earlier we address these challenges, the easier it is to develop strong motor patterns before frustration and avoidance set in. Early intervention can make a tremendous difference in a child's confidence and success both at school and at home.

We are blessed with the BEST Occupational Therapists for READY, SET, WRITE!

Our camp will be led by two undeniably talented Occupational Therapists, Becky Novelli and Beth Nunez who are passionate about helping children build confidence, independence, and strong fine motor skills in a FUN and supportive environment.

Through engaging, play-based activities, campers will work on:
✋ Fine motor coordination
✏️ Handwriting skills
🧠 Visual motor integration
💪 Hand strength and endurance

What we love most about our therapists is their ability to make learning feel FUN while meeting each child where they are. Whether your child struggles with handwriting frustration, pencil grasp, letter formation, or simply needs extra support before the school year, this camp is designed to help them grow in confidence and skill!

Stop fighting with your kids to try new foods and eat foods they typically like. That strategy is only going to cause you you and your child to have a power struggle at the table. Instead, leave it open, give them choices and try a pressure free approach!

What you say and HOW you say it could make a big difference during mealtimes.

I am so excited to share that we have officially finished our 10-week Food Explorers Club! I could not be more proud of this group of little explorers.

I think they finally learned, after the hundredth time I told them, that "Mrs. Sarah does not make you eat your food." We discovered that we can learn about food with all of our senses without always having to put it directly in our mouths. This approach led to so much more courage and exploration when it was on their own terms and when their bodies were ready to take the next step.

Throughout the program, the children learned how to:

- Look at and compare different foods.
- Conduct experiments and play games with food.
- YES, we played with our food!!
- "Mask" certain flavors they weren't fans of (like hiding a new flavor between two crackers).
- Understand the basics of protein and other nutrients our bodies need.
- And so much more!!

Their parents also learned valuable skills to support their children at mealtimes, finding ways to encourage continued learning about foods in a responsive manner without the use of rewards, bribes, or pressure.

It has been a joy watching these explorers grow

🤩 Exciting update on READY, SET, WRITE! Our Galveston handwriting and fine motor summer intensive:

Due to limited interest in our younger group for ages 4-5, and significant interest in an older age bracket, we have decided to adjust our schedule. We will now be offering "Ready Set Write" for ages 9-11 in the 9:00-10:00 AM time slot.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this change or if you would like to register for this new session.

✨ May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, and we are celebrating the incredible team that makes the magic happen here at Milestones Matter Therapy! 💙 🎉

Our team works across the lifespan with inclusive and compassionate care—and we wanted to share a few reasons why we love what we do every single day:
