If nobody has told you today…

You don’t have to figure out your whole life this week.

Maybe this week brought news you weren’t expecting. Maybe you’ve had hard conversations. Maybe you’ve avoided a few conversations because you’re just not ready yet. Maybe your mind has gone back and forth a hundred times.

Or maybe you’re ending the week in exactly the same place you started it: “I still don’t know.”

That’s okay.

You don’t have to measure this week by how much you figured out.

Maybe you asked a question you were afraid to ask. Maybe you let someone in. Maybe you learned something you didn’t know before. Maybe you just made it through a really hard week.

That counts, too.

🤍 Give yourself permission to put some of it down for the weekend. You can pick it back up when you’re ready.

When your mind is carrying everything at once, even small decisions can start to feel impossible. So instead of trying to figure out your whole life today, make it smaller. Write down what’s swirling around in your head.

Then ask yourself:

What actually needs my attention today?

What do I need more information about?

What am I trying to carry alone?

And what can wait?

You may not have an answer for every question—and that’s not the goal. The goal is to give your mind a little room to breathe and figure out what your next step actually is.

Save this one for a day when everything feels like too much. 🤍

Let’s talk about feeling overwhelmed.

Sometimes it isn’t one big thing. It’s all the things.

The pregnancy itself.
The decisions.
Money.
Work or school.
Your relationship.
Your other children.
What your family is going to say.
What life might look like six months from now.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, you’re trying to figure out how you actually feel. Of course that can feel overwhelming. When everything starts piling up at once, you don’t have to solve every problem at the same time. Sometimes we start smaller:

What feels heaviest today?

Not next month.
Not next year.
Today.

Start there.

“I just found out I’m pregnant, and I feel like I should know what I’m going to do…but I don’t. I honestly don’t even know where to start.”

If that sounds like you, this week’s Counselor’s Corner is for you.

You don’t have to know what you’re going to do before you reach out. You don’t have to have the right questions or a plan for what comes next.

Pregnancy counseling gives you a place to slow things down, share your story, talk through how you’re feeling, and understand your options.

🤍 We’ll take it from there, together.

To talk with a pregnancy counselor or learn more about your options, call or text us 24/7 at 1-800-875-5595.
