Adulting 101- FREE ZOOM- for high school grads, college adults, young adults through Purdue Extension. Check it out and share with your friends!

Do you know a recent high school graduate, college student, young professional, or someone who is simply trying to figure out this whole "adulting" thing? If so, we need your help!

Purdue Extension is excited to offer Adulting 101, a virtual program designed to help young adults build confidence and learn practical life skills for navigating the real world.

Throughout this four-part series, participants will learn about:
• Building credit and managing finances
• Basic car care and maintenance
• Self-care and personal well-being
• Kitchen skills and household tips
• Basic interview skills and professional preparedness
• Other practical tools for starting life's next adventure

We would love your help in spreading the word across Indiana! The more people we reach, the more young adults we can equip with the knowledge and confidence to tackle life's next steps. Please consider sharing the attached flyer through your county newsletters, social media pages, email lists, community partners, schools, libraries, and anywhere else young adults (or the people who love them) might see it.

🎉 Happy First Anniversary to Linda! 🎉
We are celebrating Linda's first year at Spencer Psychology! She earned both her masters and doctoral degrees at Rutgers University. Prior to joining Spencer Psychology, she spent nearly 20 years working for the Veterans Health Administration, first in central Connecticut and more recently, for more than a decade in Bloomington. Being a psychologist is a second career- she is also an attorney but had a change of direction early in her law career to join us in mental health.

Linda's specialties are trauma, chronic pain, and depression. Linda is also a crackerjack at trivia, so we're always excited when she joins the Spencer Psychology trivia team.

We are so glad you decided to work with us!

🎉Happy 2nd Work Anniversary to Robert! 🎉
Robert came to us from an organization that provided mental health care in the prison system in Pennsylvania. Robert grew up in the Bloomington area, and has family here, so he was looking to return home and came across our opening. He was with the prison system for 9 years, overseeing the care of inmates and supervising other staff (including a post-doctoral fellow in training). Prior to that, he conducted psychological evaluations for a private practice for 5 years.

From 2011-2014, he served as a practicum student, intern, post- doc, therapist and then clinical supervisor for Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems. He has also been a phone crisis counselor, an addictions counselor and a behavior specialist consultant. And he has taught counseling classes as adjunct faculty at Alvernia University.

Robert has a doctorate in clinical psychology, a master's in clinical psychology and an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and psychology.

We are so lucky to have such talent. Glad you decided to join our crew!!

𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 | 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
Mental Health Awareness Month was founded by Mental Health America in 1949, and every May, we come together to spotlight the importance of mental wellness.
This year’s theme — “𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬, 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫” — invites us to reflect on what a good day looks like for each of us, and how we can support one another in creating more of those moments.
At our practice, we see every day how meaningful support, connection, and care can lead to real change. Whether it’s reaching out for help, checking in on a loved one, or taking time for your own well-being, every small step matters.
💚 Let’s work together to:

Normalize conversations about mental health
Connect people to the right support at the right time
Build stronger, more supported communities

Mental Health America has created a helpful 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 filled with activities, articles, printable tools, and practical resources to help you create more good days:

You don’t have to do it alone. Together, we can create more good days for everyone.

In a world that can feel overwhelming or uncertain, many factors affecting our health are beyond our control. While we can’t change everything, paying attention to what we can influence can make a difference. There’s no right or wrong way to use this guide. Start where it feels helpful, skip wha...
