Dr. Dipesh Navsaria I am a pediatrician with graduate degrees in children's librarianship and public health as well as a "past life" as a physician assistant.

Dipesh Navsaria, MPH, MSLIS, MD (the "Doctor Librarian") posts on Early Brain Development, Early Literacy Promotion, Medical Education, Pediatrics, Vexillology and so on... Twitter: My professional life sits at the delightful intersection of pediatrics, child development, children's literature, public librarianship, economics, education, neuroscience, psychology and public policy. My formal roles include being an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Director of Advocacy Training for the Pediatric Residency Program, and the Medical Director of Reach Out and Read Wisconsin. I also have significant leadership involvement with the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and am involved with a variety of committees at the American Academy of Pediatrics nationally. My clinical practice is at Access Community Health Centers in South Madison. However, this is a personal page. The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of any of the above organizations unless clearly marked as such. Also, I reserve the right to remove posts/comments I deem inappropriate or offensive. I also reserve the right to terminate involvement by anyone who posts such content. Also, this page may provide general health information and is not specific advice intended for any particular individual(s). It is not a professional medical opinion or a diagnosis. (If you think it is, you have problems.) Always consult your personal health care provider about your concerns. No ongoing relationship of any sort (including but not limited to any form of professional relationship) is implied or offered by me. Use some common sense, okay? :-)

Pleased to have collaborated with my UW-Madison School of Human Ecology colleagues on this piece, contemplating how AI can be best shaped though principles of human ecology.

"Like any ecosystem, the digital dimension of our lives is evolving, but people can take an active role in guiding that evolution. AI will be what we make it. A holistic approach can ensure that AI strengthens the webs of life, learning and care that make us human."

Involving families, educators, engineers, designers and policymakers in AI development can help ensure the technology does more good than harm.
