A practice of softening. 🤍

This Sunday, June 7 — 4:00–6:00 PM at Downtown with Justine R.

Two hours of slow, breath-led movement designed to create more space in the body and softness in the nervous system. Gentle backbends, supported restorative shapes, and intentional pauses — opening explored as something gradual and grounded, never forced.

If you can observe your thoughts, then they are not you.

Chapter four of the Yoga Sutras, Kaivalya Pada, explores absolute awakening and how we can separate ourselves from the ego by realizing we are not our thoughts.

The mind is like a clear crystal that takes on the color of whatever it is placed against. If you put your mind up against the world or your own thoughts, it reflects them back, making you believe that is who you are and what is real.

True freedom and liberation come from this discernment:
• Seeing the difference between your mind and your spirit.
• Moving beyond questions like “Who am I?” and “Why am I here?”.
• Simply being in the world without creating more ripples of karma and baggage.
• Acting in a way that does not perpetuate suffering for yourself or others.
If you can observe your feelings, thoughts, and stories, then they aren’t you. What’s left? 🧘✨

Things are about to get weird. 🌀

We are diving into the second half of the Vibhuti Pada — the third chapter of the Yoga Sutras — and Patanjali does not hold back.
He describes some pretty wild powers that can unfold when you develop deep concentration and the universe reveals its true nature:
— Knowing the past, present, and future
— Speaking any language
— Mind reading and invisibility
— The strength of an elephant
— Levitation and astral projection

But here is the catch. In Sutra 3.37, Patanjali warns that even these miraculous qualities are just a distraction. Getting attached to them — or even to a new “spiritual ego” — just keeps us caught in the physical world.

The real goal? To transcend, let go of the karmic package, and find true equanimity so we can remain clear no matter what we experience.

8 Tips for Seasonal Wellness:

2️⃣ Move your body with yoga or a mindful walk.
3️⃣ Fuel with fresh, seasonal fruits and whole grains. 🍓

Ready to dive deep into the subtle realms of the mind? 🧘✨

We are exploring the third book of the Yoga Sutras, the Vibhuti Pada, which focuses on the power of refined attention. In this section, we move beyond gross physical practices into the realms of thought and spirit.

By cultivating Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi, we develop the capacity to rest our awareness on a single object until a merging of consciousness occurs. From this established connection, true insight arises—allowing us to see the primordial essence that creates all existence. When we realize that the past and future are not real and only the present moment holds the full potential of reality, we open the door to extraordinary capabilities and super-awareness.

Things are getting juicy as we prepare to discuss the siddhis, or the magical powers that bloom from this active concentration.
