In 1987, Sacks Thrift Store opened its doors. For nearly four decades, this social enterprise has funded the programs of Help Center, Inc., turning donated goods into real support across our community.

Now, a new chapter. Persica Studios is open.

Years in the making, Persica was built this past year by the leadership and crew of Sacks, who set aside the finest gems for a thoughtfully curated, ever-changing collection of vintage treasures, art, and home goods. Every purchase helps carry forward the care, connection, and support Help Center extends across the valley.

Persica’s home carries a deeper meaning. 421 E. Peach Street was the home of Help Center, Inc. from the early 1990s until our move to the new campus. Now, the legacy of connection continues at Peach Street.

Over the past month, you allowed us to share something meaningful.

A glimpse into the work of Help Center, Inc.
Into the people who carry it.
Into the moments, seen and unseen, that have shaped this work since 1971.

What stayed with us most was this community.

In the way you showed up.
In the way you shared, reached out, and helped open space for conversations around mental health.
In the way you stood alongside this work, helping ensure that no one has to face their most vulnerable moments alone.

What has been carried returns to light.

Frame by frame, this story gathers.
A road, a room, a desk, a window.
Hands meeting, gardens tended, pages filled, a line that never goes unanswered.

Each image holds its own moment.
Together, they reveal something larger.

Not a single point in time, but a continuum.
A way of showing up that has been shaped, strengthened, and sustained across more than five decades.

This is the work as it has always been.

Connection offered without condition.

There is a voice on the other end of the line.

There always has been.

Across decades, across changing rooms, across different hands holding the receiver, one thing has remained. Someone answers.

Not as a system.
Not as a service alone.
But as a presence.

A person, listening.
A person, staying.
A person, choosing to be there in a moment that may never be seen again, yet matters entirely.

How many voices have met in that space.
How many moments held.
How many lives quietly steadied, simply because someone was there to receive them.

An old sign that once read, we never close.

Some things change.
What matters does not.

For more than five decades, Help Center, Inc. has been here for this community.

Not just as a resource, but as a place people turn to when something in their life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or out of reach.

That support takes many forms.

A call answered at 2am.
A conversation that brings someone back to a steadier place.
A counseling session that creates space to be heard.
An advocate walking alongside someone after an experience of violence.
A child and family finding support through the Child Advocacy Center.
A follow up call that reminds someone they are not alone.

This is the full scope of the work.

WHERE HELP BEGINS | GIVE BIG SUNRISE KICKOFF

April 30 | 6:30am

As we step into 2026, we are beginning the day together outdoors, in shared presence, and with a slower, more intentional start than the pace that usually carries us forward.

We invite you to join us on our campus for a sunrise gathering that creates space before the day unfolds.

We will open with a brief welcome and guided meditation, then move into a gentle walk through our gardens and along the trail that connects to Highland Glen Nature Preserve. The path is accessible and unhurried, offering time to take in the land and simply be.

Whether you are heading into work, school, or moving through an early morning rhythm, this is an opportunity to begin with clarity and connection.

This gathering also holds space for something deeper. A moment to honor, to remember, and to acknowledge the experiences that lead people to Help Center, Inc., alongside the community that ensures no one has to move through those moments alone.

We will have something delicious from , time to connect with one another, and a chance to experience the gardens as they begin to bloom, including a quiet moment to meet and feed our therapy chickens.

There is something sacred about gathering around a table.

A shared meal.
A moment to slow down.
To be in conversation, in presence, in connection.

On May 1st, we will close out with an intimate evening at , where food, community, and purpose come together in the most beautiful way.

Led by Chef Jarrett Wrisley, alongside Candice Lin and their incredible team, this is not just a dinner. It is an experience rooted in craft, care, and a deep sense of place.

You will be seated alongside Help Center, Inc. staff and members of this community—people who believe in showing up for one another. Together, we create space for reflection, connection, and collective support for mental health.

Two intimate seatings: 5:30pm and 8:00pm.

This gathering is intentionally small.

And that is what makes it special.

is one week away.

Each year, we witness something powerful in this valley. A willingness to show up. To give. To stand beside one another in ways that create real and lasting impact.

This year, we are moving beyond the ask. Beyond our screens. Creating space to be together in community, through connection, conversation, and shared purpose.

Across April 30 and May 1, we will be out in the community with partners who have helped bring this vision to life. We will begin at sunrise on our campus, gathering for a quiet meditation and a gentle walk through our new gardens and along the trails that connect to Highland Glen Nature Preserve. A moment to arrive, to take in the land, and to step into this work together.

From there, we will share time over coffee at across both days, gather with at Give Big Fest, come together again with , meeting the day with something warm and welcoming, then move into , creating space for restoration and reflection, and close the day around the table at . Each activation offers a different way to connect, to engage, and to be part of something larger than any one moment.

For more than five decades, Help Center, Inc. has existed within this same landscape, growing alongside it, responding to what is needed, and continuing to offer connection in moments that ask for it most.
