💛 A Very Special Thank You to Julia 💛

Sometimes a package arrives at the door, and what’s inside feels like so much more than supplies.

My wonderful friend Julia recently purchased an incredibly generous collection of items from the Why the Feels Amazon Wishlist—from journals, sticky notes and clipboards to our mood wheel, dry erase markers, disinfecting wipes, and even our little “In Session” sign.

Every one of these things will help us create a space where young people can feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for. But what touched me most was knowing that someone I care about believes in what we’re building enough to support it in such a generous way.

Julia, your friendship already means so much to me. Your kindness and support of Why the Feels truly warmed my heart. Thank you for believing in this little dream as it continues becoming something very real. 💛🌱

Did you know that WeeCycle accepts donations of car seats and many other baby and child essentials?

Those donated items help support Colorado families who need a little extra help providing the everyday necessities their children need.

What started as an idea — creating a safe, welcoming place where young people can talk about what they’re feeling, find connection, and know they’re not alone — is becoming very real.

🩵 Donation Request for Why the Feels 🩵

As we prepare to launch our youth and young adult emotional wellness program, we're working to create a welcoming, comfortable space where participants can connect, feel safe, and simply be themselves.

We're looking for donations of items such as:

✨ Boho floor cushions
✨ Floor pillows
✨ Beanbag chairs
✨ Folding lounge chairs
✨ Portable fun seating for a youth setting
✨ Small area rugs
✨ Throw blankets
✨ Small side tables
✨ Fidget items
✨ Other cozy comfort items

Our goal is to create a space that feels more like a community living room and less like a classroom or meeting room.

We're especially interested in items that are portable and can easily be moved, stored, and rearranged as needed.

New items are wonderful, but we also welcome clean, gently used items that are in very good condition. Because these items will be used by youth and young adults in our program, we're looking for donations that are comfortable, well cared for, and ready for immediate use.

At this time, we're primarily looking for donations from local community members in the Broomfield, Westminster, and surrounding areas to avoid shipping costs, although we're grateful for support from anywhere.

If you have something you think might be a good fit, please send me a message and a photo. We'd love to give these items a second life while creating a welcoming environment for young people.

Why Do I Feel the Way I Feel? (Why the Feels) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the emotional wellness, connection, and belonging of youth and young adults.

Why Do I Feel the Way I Feel? (Why the Feels) is getting closer to launching community-based support groups for youth and young adults focused on emotional wellness, identity, belonging, and connection.

We believe everyone deserves a place where they can show up exactly as they are, be heard without judgment, and know they are not alone.

We're working hard behind the scenes to build partnerships, gather resources, and create a space where young people can connect, learn, and grow together.
