In 6th grade social studies, Mrs. Simpson asked students to evaluate evidence to figure out how an ancient man found frozen in the ice lived and died. Students analyzed x-rays, stomach contents, and items found with the man.

The Bison opened their season tonight. Both 7th and 8th grade fell to Catholic. Go get them next time boys. Thank you to our BPMS cheer squad for encouraging our boys and keeping the fans excited.

Mrs. Sissel's science classes kicked off their Matter unit with some partner teamwork! Students sorted picture cards into matter and nonmatter, using their observations and reasoning to make their choices. A fun way to get their brains thinking like scientists! 💡🧠

8th graders in 2nd hour continued diving into the Real Number System after learning how to convert repeating decimals into fractions. Students went head to head with each other during 99 Squares while practicing their conversions.

Congratulations to Ashley Akins, recipient of a $500 Classroom Grant from the Southwest Region Teachers Association! Ashley’s grant will help her continue enriching student learning during her A Long Walk to Water unit. Last year, the unit inspired an incredible amount of student and family participation and support, and this grant will allow Ashley to build on that success and create even more meaningful learning experiences for her students. Ashley will be recognized for her grant at the SWRTA Fall Fling on September 21.

Students in Miss Ashlock’s class have spent the last two weeks learning about unit rates. Today, they practiced a variety of unit rates and unit price problems with a game. As students finished each problem and they got it correct, every team had the opportunity to win points for their team by throwing a pop dart. Each pop dart color was a multiplier to make winning points even more fun!
