📣 Exciting announcement!! Kinetic Pelvic Health LLC has a new location in the North Hills and will be taking in-home clients in the North Hills and surrounding areas.

Dr. Mandy Kulifay will be the physical therapist at the McCandless location. She will also be doing in-home visits in the North Hills, Cranberry Twp and surrounding areas.

👩‍⚕️Dr. Mandy Kulifay graduated from St. Francis University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2005, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007. Mandy has received advanced training in pelvic floor dysfunction, and has over 17 years treating patients with a variety of pelvic diagnoses, including antepartum and postpartum musculoskeletal pain, urinary incontinence, bowel dysfunction, and pain with in*******se. She also is a certified lymphedema therapist.

Mandy has a strong interest in treating patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, and is passionate about helping them achieve their goals. She loves to be able to tailor her care and exercise prescription to each individual client, include them in decision-making, and assist them in restoring optimal mobility and function.

Mandy is a proud wife, mother to 2 wonderful girls, and “dog mom” to a pup with boundless energy! She looks forward to working with you to promote health in whatever stage of life you are in!

I get a lot of clients who what to know what then can do immediately postpartum to help with healing and return to activity. I think there’s a lot of social media that expect moms to get right back into to working out and doing their ‘normal’ activities. We need to be patient with ourselves and allow our body time to heal!

That being said, there are a few things you can focus on immediately postpartum:

👶 Rest - allow your body time to rest. Sit around, snuggle baby and eat healthy foods that aid in recovery and muscle repair
👶Ask for help when you need a break - have a support system ready! Ask for help from your husband, parents, in-laws if needed. Hire a postpartum doula!
👶Begin deep breathing and 360 breathing - this is breath working focusing on moving the diaphragm and ribs to help with abdominal and pelvic floor recovery and healing
👶Gentle TA activation - this helps get your core engaged and aids in Diastasis and pelvic floor recovery (if you don’t know how to do this, see a pelvic floor PT)
