Sometimes, the smallest moments of joy can mean the most. 🧸🩵

For children with complex medical needs and the families who love them, “the little things” can bring comfort during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Titus Thompson knows this firsthand. His daughter, Mallory, was diagnosed with Rauch-Steindl syndrome, a rare genetic condition. Through their journey with MUSC Children’s Health, his family discovered how a simple act of generosity could create a moment of happiness when they needed it most.

Could the heart help reveal Alzheimer's disease before symptoms begin?

MUSC researcher Dr. Federica del Monte is studying a surprising link between heart disease and Alzheimer's, with the goal of finding new ways to diagnose both conditions earlier.

Supported by a generous anonymous donor, this research is exploring whether changes in the heart could provide early clues about what's happening in the brain – potentially creating new opportunities for treatment before disease progresses.
