And how might taking micro-moments begin to show your brain that you actually DO have the time?

How might that subconscious shift completely change the game of life for you?

You might be wondering, taking the time to do what? Well- that’s up to what you feel called to do….

30 seconds of a nervous system practice daily, like screaming into a pillow or staring at a tree…
60 seconds of body weight squats to help us feel more connected to the body + grounded (and build strength/support mobility over time)…
10 mins to prep a casserole breakfast bake that helps you meet your needs for the week and create more ease in your mornings…
These are just a few examples.

Taking the time to shift how we’re functioning in the chaos that is this life helps us to better show up in the ways our soul is CRAVING to show up.

It’s easier not to take the time, because our brains like to take the path of least resistance- but once you start, it’s harder to go back to where you were before. And even if you have a lapse in consistency, practice giving yourself grace and remembering your WHY so you can get back to it.

You DESERVE to take the time to support your body and brain in the ways they need. You DESERVE a joy-filled, low-stress, abundant life!

Lmk below what’s something you’re feeling called to take the time for?

Thanks to Freddy for help creating this post!

ANYONE can develop an ED- and ALL of us learning more about them will ultimately help us all better understand their function and how to prevent them.

The biggest takeaway I’d love people to have is: you have to find good-fit practitioners that you feel safe enough to be vulnerable with, who challenge you to go deeper, and often who also incorporate nervous system techniques.

I could do so many versions of this trend…

Preparing for my Netflix documentary:

On how expressing your body image issues in front of your kids makes them more prone to body image issues and (probably) e@ting d!sorders…

On how you can’t determine someone’s dietary pattern or health by just looking at them…

On how trying to keep up with beauty “standards” is keeping you unhappy with your body/appearance…

On how e@ting d!s0rders will persist until we 1) dismantle systems of oppression 2) give more attention to social determinants of health and 3) mental & nervous system health are given more attention & care…

Lmk what you think in the comments!

If you aren’t qualified to do these things, you shouldn’t be making personalized nutrition or supplement recommendations, because unless you understand how to take the whole person into account, and how body systems are impacted by chronic health conditions & medications- you could very easily do more harm than good.

Dietitians (and CNS) have the clinical knowledge and experience, counseling skills, and the education to assess alllllll the factors and see a person as a whole in order to make recommendations.

Lmk below if you’ve tried yet!

Tl;Dr:
🐟Flavor profile 10/10
🐟A great protein source for traveling
🐟Love the sustainability efforts
🐟$$$
🐟Some tinned fish are a good source of Omega-3s- honestly uncertain about these, because they don’t list the specific Omega-3 content.

Did you know that alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), one of the types of omega-3s, is an essential fatty acid- meaning it’s required for life? 🤓

Nuts & seeds (and seed oils!!) are a great source of ALA.

Tl;dr: Stop treating fat ppl like s**t pretending like you gaf about them.

Ppl in larger bodies can be perfectly healthy & more physically fit than you.

Stop assuming things about anyone’s nutrition & exercise habits, and stop asking them about them when it’s completely irrelevant.

Remember: health-promoting behaviors that absolutely improve overall health but may have 0 effect on weight include:-getting adequate sleep
-getting adequate hydration
-meeting the fiber recommendations per day (25 g/day women, 38g/day men)
-meeting the fruit & veg minimum per day (5 servings/day min)
-choosing less saturated fats and more unsaturated
-moving your body regularly (working towards moving it more + strength training, regardless of where you’re starting)
-reducing stress
-experiencing joy
-practicing self-compassion

^^CANNOT under-emphasize the role that socio-economics play in access to all of these, as well as other social determinants of health. If you want/need more info, check out “Determinants of Health” by GoInvo
