From the families who ADOPTED STREETS, to everybody who showed up for the KINGVILLE CLEANUP, to community members who spoke on WHY KINGVILLE ACADEMY IS NEEDED—this 17-minute recap is bigger than a cleanup.

We cleaned streets.
We cleaned the historic Kingville site.
We listened to our elders.
We heard from our youth.
We heard directly from the community.

And we showed what happens when people stop waiting on somebody else and simply SHOW UP. 💙✊🏾

Before Kingville Academy became our vision for the future, Stanly Avengers went digging into the past.

And the deeper we dig, the more we realize:

WE’VE BEEN HERE BEFORE.

Long before Kingville High School…

Long before the Rosenwald era…

Our research led us to FIVE BLACK MEN connected to the early foundation of education and community-building in Kingville:

Five men. One vision. A Kingdom begins.

More than a century later, Stanly Avengers, Inc. is carrying that legacy forward.

Through the Kingville Academy Project, we’re working to preserve this history while building a future centered around education, workforce development, skilled trades, arts, entrepreneurship, leadership and community.

And through the 100 Black Men of Stanly County Initiative, Stanly Avengers is bringing Black men together to mentor our youth, strengthen families, build community partnerships and lay the foundation toward an official chapter.

ALONG WITH THE FOUNDERS..WE ARE THE NEXT GENERATION OF MEN ANSWERING THE CALL. 💯✊🏾

But make no mistake—Kingville Academy isn’t being rebuilt by Black men alone.

Men. Women. Churches. Businesses. Families. Preservationists. Donors. Volunteers. Advocates.

A VILLAGE.

Some give money.
Some give time.
Some give knowledge.
Some give connections.
Some simply say, “Whatever I can do, COUNT ME IN.”

That’s what Stanly Avengers was created to do:

👑💙 KINGVILLE ACADEMY FOUNDER SPOTLIGHT — Sam Miller

Some connections happen for a reason. 🙏🏾

I met Samuel at the barbershop earlier this summer, and ever since then, it’s been ON & POPPIN’! 😂💯

Sam is now our newest active Board Member with Stanly Avengers, Inc., a member of the 100 Black Men of Stanly County Initiative, and one of the people actively helping us move the Kingville Academy vision forward.

And his support didn’t start today.

This summer, when we needed transportation to take our youth to the Leadership & Legacy Experience at the Harvey B. Gantt Center, Sam stepped up and personally covered the cost of a rental van, making sure our kids had the transportation they needed at no cost to Stanly Avengers. 🚐💙

Today, he’s helping lead our Kingville campaign efforts, working connections with investors toward securing a transportation van for Stanly Avengers, AND he has now stepped forward with a Kingville Academy Founder Pledge. 👑🏫

That’s what BUILDING looks like.

Time. Talent. Relationships. Resources. ACTION. 💯
