Some acts of care leave a lasting impression, not only on the families we serve, but on all of us who witness them. Recently, our chaplain, Mark, had the privilege of supporting a beloved member of our local community and her family during one of life’s most difficult moments. The patient and her husband, a veteran, respected business owner, and Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame inductee, dedicated their lives to serving and enriching their community.

When the family asked Mark to officiate her funeral service, he wanted to honor her life in a truly personal way. Drawing on his passion for woodworking, Mark carefully selected the wood, handcrafted, and turned a custom urn by hand, adding gold inlay details to create a one-of-a-kind tribute. What began as a hobby became a heartfelt gift of love, remembrance, and respect.

For the family, it was far more than an urn, it was a symbol of the care, compassion, and personal connection that helped carry them through a difficult time.

At Care Hospice, we believe every life deserves to be honored in a meaningful way, and every family deserves support that comes from the heart. Mark’s thoughtful act is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference.

We are incredibly proud of Mark and grateful for colleagues who bring such compassion to the families we serve every day. ❤️
