🔬 Build Your Microsurgical Foundation Before WSRM 2027!

Join the Basic Microsurgery Course, a three-day intensive hands-on programme held immediately before the 14th Congress of WSRM in Istanbul.

The course is coordinated by Dr. Yelena Akelina Yelena Akelina , internationally recognized for microsurgical training at Columbia University, together with Dr. Ömer Berköz, Omer Berkoz and supported by an international faculty.

From instrument handling and suturing to microvascular dissection, arterial and venous anastomoses, end-to-side anastomosis, and peripheral nerve coaptation, participants will progress step by step through structured practical training, with each practical session preceded by a video lecture.

🎯 Designed for residents, fellows, and surgeons who want to establish, strengthen, or refresh their foundation in microsurgery.

This Friday’s word: venous congestion 🟣

A condition in which arterial inflow continues, but venous outflow is impaired — causing the flap to become swollen, dark, and at risk of failure.

Think of it as:
blood gets in, but cannot get out.

In microsurgery, venous congestion is one of the most important early warning signs in flap monitoring, reminding us that successful reconstruction depends not only on inflow — but also on reliable outflow.
