Welcome to .performance x 👊

Figured it was finally time to do an MTV Cribs-style tour of the space.

This isn’t your typical PT clinic:
• 4440 sq ft
• 15,000+ lbs of weights
• Full gym environment
• 1-on-1 performance physical therapy
• Crossfit training every day (7 classes/day!)
• Built for athletes & active adults

From rehab to return-to-sport to performance training to CrossFit training this is where the magic happens.

Huge shoutout to for creating such an awesome environment and helping make this place feel like home for so many people.

Appreciate everyone who has supported .performance over the past year. Hope you enjoy the tour 🤝

If you’re trying to get out of pain and get back to doing what you love, we’d love to help.

Want to see what 2 weeks of gait retraining can do? 👟

Jesus started with a sc******ng running pattern, where the feet were crossing toward the midline with each step. Over time, this increases stress through the knees and hips and contributes to pain or inefficient loading.

We started with a simple cue: “keep your feet wider with a line running between the.”
At first, he overcorrected and landed a little too wide — and that’s completely normal.

He cleaned it up with additional cueing. We’re not expecting perfection in 1 day just progress.

It’s about:
➡️ creating awareness
➡️ allowing some overcorrection
➡️ refining the movement
➡️ letting it become natural through repetition

Just 2 weeks later, his stride looks smoother, more controlled, and much more efficient — with a natural rhythm and improved foot placement.

He’s now back to running >1 mile pain free when before he had pain jogging a few steps. With continued work he’ll be hitting a 5k in no time!

It’s unrealistic to correct every single part of your running mechanics all at once. Start with the low hanging fruit, fix that, and see how someone feels.

Dry needling and acupuncture might look similar…

But what’s happening under the surface is very different.

Dry needling is designed to directly target muscle dysfunction—helping reduce pain, improve blood and oxygen flow, and restore normal movement patterns.

At our clinic, it’s not just about sticking a needle in and hoping it helps.

It’s about using the right tool at the right time—so your body can actually move and perform better.

Dry needling is best used as part of a comprehensive plan of care addressing movement limitations and/or strength deficits.

If you’ve been dealing with tightness, pain, or limitations, this might be a missing piece.

DM me “NEEDLES” if you want to learn more or see if it’s right for you.

Warm up before tackling CrossFit Open 26.3.

The goal of a warm-up isn’t to get tired — it’s to prepare the positions and movement patterns you’re about to load.

This quick sequence opens up your shoulders, gets your hips moving, and primes the thruster pattern so you don’t feel stiff when the clock starts.

Run through this before the workout:

1️⃣ Scap Push-Ups – 2 x 10
Get the serratus and upper back firing so your shoulders are ready to stabilize overhead.

2️⃣ Air Squat Holds – 3-second hold x 20 reps
Sit into the bottom position and own it before the thrusters.

3️⃣ Modified Lizard / Mountain Climbers – 10–15 each side
Open the hips while waking up the core.

4️⃣ Single Arm DB Thrusters – 15 each side (light weight)
Groove the movement pattern before loading it up.

Don’t forget to get under a barbell for a few reps of thrusters and clean after this!!

Takes ~5 minutes and helps you hit the workout feeling loose, stable, and ready to move.

💾 Save this so you can pull it up before the workout this weekend.

Good luck to everyone taking on 26.3.

Hip mobility might be the reason your lifts or runs feel off.

Hip internal rotation is required for:
• walking
• running
• squatting
• hinging

When that motion is limited, your body has to compensate — usually through the low back, knees, or ankles.

Over time that can feel like:
• stiffness in the hips
• low back tightness after workouts
• knee pain when squatting or running
• feeling strong but still moving “restricted”

This is one technique I use with patients to help restore hip internal rotation so movement becomes smoother and force transfers better.

Sometimes the missing piece isn’t strength.

It’s mobility that allows you to use the strength you already have.
