Our Blue Bird of the Week is Sofia! Part two of our dynamic duo, Sofia has come so far since she first started at Blue Bird! Sofia is a giggly girl who walks in with a smile every day, ready to explore. Sofia is outgoing and a total social butterfly. While she loves her friends and teachers, she is Miss Independent from the classroom to the gym. Always on her own path, Sofia is free spirited with a new idea on every horizon. Her teachers describe her as goofy and “a cutie patootie”. She loves her songs, always ready with a little dance for her favorites! She is almost always the first to jump at a new sensory experience. This girl loves a good gym session and can often be found climbing, jumping, or running around the clinic! We are all so proud of Sofia and can’t wait to see where she goes from here!

Our Blue Bird of the Week is Lemmy! Lemmy is an adventurous and curious friend who loves trying new things, especially sports. He has a strong interest in numbers and enjoys putting others' math skills to the test with fun challenges. He is a wonderful friend, and we look forward to watching him continue to grow, learn, and achieve great things!

Our Blue Bird of the Week is Elijah! Elijah loves Thomas the Tank Engine and the color red. Whether he’s playing tag with his friends and providers or enjoying his favorite snack—Frosted Flakes with Tony the Tiger—Elijah’s energy and joy light up Blue Bird Day. We’re so proud of all the progress he’s made and can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next!

Did you know your child's tummy troubles might be connected to how they move? Constipation isn't only about what's on their plate. It's closely tied to your child's core strength, posture, and pelvic floor — the muscles that help bowel movements happen comfortably. When those muscles need extra support, gentle movement can make a real difference.

The good news? A few therapist-approved activities can help, and they feel more like play than work:
-Squats help the pelvic floor relax and contract, supporting healthy bowel movements
-Trunk rotation — those silly side-to-side twists — gently wake up the tummy
-Diaphragmatic breathing using a pinwheel or party whistle encourages deep belly breaths that help everything relax
