Disability Employment Gap The latest BLS report shows that people with disabilities continue to face
major gaps in employment access. In 2025, only 22.8% of people with disabilities were employed,
compared with 65.2% of people without disabilities, and the unemployment rate for disabled workers was
about twice as high. These numbers remind us why transition planning, early work experiences, self-
advocacy, and strong support systems matter for youth with disabilities as they prepare for adulthood and
employment. Read the report here:https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/disabl.pdf

**Someone out there needs to hear your story. ❤️**

Too often, young people with disabilities don't get to see enough examples of people like them pursuing careers they love. We want to help change that.

Project POWER is looking for **two youth or young adults with disabilities from each Region D2 state** to share their career journey for our upcoming **Regional Career Directory**—a resource that will help other young people explore career possibilities, discover supports, and see what's possible.

💵 **If your story is selected, you'll be compensated for your time.**

Whether you found your dream career, changed directions along the way, or overcame barriers to get where you are today, your experience could inspire someone else's next step.

📩 **Interested? Send us a DM!** We'll send you all the details.

🤝 **Not for you?** You can still help! Share this Reel with a friend, family member, coworker, vocational rehabilitation counselor, transition teacher, or anyone who knows a young person with a disability who has a story worth sharing.

Every share helps us reach someone who might not have seen this otherwise.
