Repeated hospitalizations, ER visits, infections, or complications can sometimes be signs that an illness is progressing and becoming more difficult to manage. Hospice focuses on comfort and quality of life, helping patients receive compassionate support while reducing the burden of unnecessary hospital visits when appropriate.

If hospital visits are becoming more frequent, talk with your loved one’s healthcare provider about whether hospice may be an option.

Sometimes, changes in everyday life can be a sign that additional support may be needed. Increased weakness, difficulty walking, needing more help with daily activities, or spending more time resting may indicate a decline in health.

Hospice can provide comfort-focused care and support for patients and their families during this stage. If you’re noticing significant changes in your loved one’s health, it may be time to start a conversation with their healthcare provider about whether hospice could help.

💙 When others say no, we say yes.

When a patient with metastatic cancer urgently needed hospice care at the Franklin County Correctional Facility, Capital City Hospice stepped forward.
Cathy Hartung, Tara Slone, Ashley Koh, and Crissy Hannah went above and beyond to provide compassionate, dignified care in a challenging environment.

Their dedication was recently recognized with the Chief’s Award for Exemplary Actions in the Administration of Justice. 🏆 This award honors four incredible team members, but it represents the heart of all of Capital City Hospice—a team that shows up, serves with compassion, and says yes when others say no.

Thank you for living our mission every day. We are so proud of you! 💙

Hospice focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life for individuals living with a life-limiting illness. Rather than focusing on curing an illness, hospice care centers on managing symptoms and providing support for patients and their loved ones.

At Capital City Hospice, we care for the whole person—providing comfort and symptom management along with emotional, spiritual, and family support. 💙

Hospice isn't about giving up. It's about making every moment matter.
