21 NIGHTS UNTIL HALLOWEEN
Night 8 ~ Ghostface from Scream

Ghostface is a little different from most monsters. There's nothing supernatural about him.
No curse.
No ancient evil.
No creature crawling out of the dark.

Just a person wearing a mask.

And that's what makes Ghostface so damn scary. Because the mask gives the person underneath it permission to become someone else.
Someone crueler.
Braver.
More dangerous.

We all wear masks sometimes. Different ones for different rooms, different people, different versions of ourselves. But a mask can hide more than a face.
It can hide intention.
It can hide responsibility.

And sometimes, it can give someone permission to become the very thing they pretend they aren't.

What the Monster Knows ~
A mask doesn't change who you are. It only reveals what you're willing to hide.

21 NIGHTS UNTIL HALLOWEEN
Night 9 ~ The Wolf Man

The Wolf Man isn't really afraid of becoming a monster. He's afraid the monster is already him.

That's the uncomfortable part of the werewolf story. The bite doesn't create something that wasn't there. It unleashes what was already lurking beneath the civilized surface: hunger, rage, instinct, wildness.

The wolf doesn't ask permission.

And maybe that's what makes us so damn uncomfortable about him. We spend a lot of time teaching ourselves how to behave, how to be reasonable, polite, productive, contained.

But the wild parts don't disappear. They waited.

What the Monster Knows ~
You can suppress your nature. You cannot erase it.

21 NIGHTS UNTIL HALLOWEEN
Night 10 ~ Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th

Jason doesn't need a complicated backstory. He doesn't need to explain himself. He just keeps coming.
Again.
And again.
And again.

There's something oddly useful about a monster who doesn't waste time convincing you he's dangerous. He knows what he is. Maybe we could learn something from that kind of certainty.

What the Monster Knows ~
You don't need everyone to understand you before you keep moving.

21 NIGHTS UNTIL HALLOWEEN
Night 11 ~ Pinhead from Hellraiser

Pinhead doesn't come looking for the curious. The curious come looking for him.

That's the uncomfortable thing about Hellraiser. The door isn't forced open.

Someone finds the puzzle box.
Someone turns the key.
Someone wants to know what's on the other side.

And sometimes curiosity takes us somewhere we weren't prepared to go.

Not every door should stay closed.
But every door has a consequence.

What the Monster Knows ~
Curiosity is powerful. So is knowing when you've gone far enough.

21 NIGHTS UNTIL HALLOWEEN
Night 12 ~ Rosemary’s Baby

Rosemary knows something is wrong. But nobody listens.

They tell her she's imagining things. She's being emotional. She's tired. She's overreacting.

And isn't that part of the horror?

Not knowing whether you can trust what you're seeing while everyone around you is determined to tell you that you can't.

Sometimes the monster isn't hiding in the shadows. Sometimes it's sitting right beside you, smiling, telling you everything is fine.

What the Monster Knows ~
Your intuition doesn't need a committee's approval.

🔥 Tarot Wise Intentions: King of Wands 🔥

This week, it's time to stop second-guessing yourself and start trusting your fire.

The King of Wands reminds us that passion is meant to be acted upon, not kept tucked away for someday. You certainly don't need anyone's permission to pursue what sets your soul ablaze.

That idea you've been sitting on? That dream you've been putting off? Maybe it's time to quit hesitating and take the first step.

Reflection: Where are you holding back your creative power, and what would happen if you finally let it burn?
