When Marion County mother Diane Smith became pregnant with her fourth child, she learned about a resource she wished she had known about sooner: Oregon’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and its breastfeeding support.

She had struggled to breastfeed her first three children. But with help from WIC lactation coaches and nutrition staff, she successfully breastfed her two youngest children.

During National Breastfeeding Month, we are highlighting how WIC’s breastfeeding services and other programs helping families access nutrition support.

Motherhood can be joyful, exhausting, overwhelming, isolating, and everything in between. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Join us for a 10-week postpartum therapy group designed to provide connection, validation, practical tools, and a safe space to talk with other mothers who understand.
This group is a great fit for mothers with babies born within the past two years, but is flexible for anyone in their early parenting journey.

This group is designed to provide a welcoming, supportive space to connect with other mothers while learning practical, evidence-based tools for navigating the postpartum
experience. Each week will focus on topics such as adjustment to motherhood, relationships, sleep and rest, self-care, the mental load, identity changes, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and building sustainable support systems.

The group will also include education and targeted support for Perinatal Mood andAnxiety Disorders (PMADS), including postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD,and other concerns that can arise during the perinatal period. Participants will be given concrete, perinatal focused interventions to reduce the impact of PMADS, and will come
away with an individualized postpartum wellness plan.

Most importantly, this is a space where mothers can feel less alone, share their experiences without judgment, and build connection and community during a major life transition.

🌿Group Details:
Group is Virtual, held over zoom
10 weeks, Tuesdays at 1pm, 9/15-11/3
Group is facilitated by Joanna Crawford, LPC

Does anyone have extra swaddle blankets that we could have for clients at the birth center?

We could use both ones to stick in our towel warmers in labor, but also to send home with people when needed.

Extra points if it's the Velcro swaddle blankets.
