Megan Sorich, D.O. Megan M. Sorich, D.O. is a Geriatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at UTMB in Galveston, Texas. Carrell Memorial Clinic.

Dr. Sorich specializes in orthopaedic fractures in older adults; the prevention of falls and fractures; and nutrition impacting the healing of hip fractures. Dr. Sorich earned her medical degree at the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and received

advanced training in shoulder and elbow surgery through a fellowship at the W.B. She also completed a Geriatric Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the University of Minnesota, a program focused solely on the orthopaedic and interdisciplinary care of the elderly and the only fellowship of its kind. Dr. Sorich joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019. She serves as the Geriatric Orthopaedic Educational Editor for the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and is a member of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, and the Texas Orthopaedic Association, among many other professional organizations. She has delivered numerous presentations and published several academic articles. In 2016, she received a Resident Scholarship from the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Dr. Sorich enjoys spending her free time reading, cooking, traveling, exploring different restaurants (as an amateur foodie), learning to be “Texan” (including learning how to two-step), and practicing the art of glass blowing.
