💙 Feeling anxious from time to time can be a normal response to stress. But when worry feels constant, hard to control or disruptive to your day, it may be time to seek support.

Anxiety, panic attacks and panic disorder are related, but they’re not the same. Understanding the difference can help you describe what you’re feeling and know when to talk with a doctor or mental health clinician.

For many people with blood cancer or other serious blood disorders, a blood stem cell or bone marrow transplant can offer hope — and it often starts with a donor.

According to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), most patients who need a transplant don’t have a fully matched donor in their family and rely on NMDP (formerly Be The Match) to help find one. NMDP ℠ is a global nonprofit leader in cell therapy that helps save the lives of patients with blood cancers and disorders.

As part of HCA Healthcare, we're proud to support this life-saving work through the Sarah Cannon Transplant and Cellular Therapy Network — one of the nation's leading providers of unrelated bone marrow donor transplants in the U.S. Each year, this extensive network helps connect tens of thousands of patients with the care they need.

You could be someone’s match. Learn more and join the registry at https://bit.ly/4Aw6Cvs.

Approximately 192,000 people will be diagnosed with blood cancer in the U.S. this year, according to the American Cancer Society.

Just in time for Blood Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Navneet Majhail explains common types of blood cancer, symptoms to watch for and when to talk with a doctor. Dr. Majhail is a hematologist and physician in chief of blood cancers for HCA Healthcare Sarah Cannon Cancer Network.

As part of our broader network of care, the HCA Healthcare Sarah Cannon Cancer Network connects patients across the U.S. and U.K. to expert oncology services, including 14 blood cancer treatment programs that make up the Sarah Cannon Transplant and Cellular Therapy Network. Each year, more than 1,000 acute leukemia patients receive treatment through this network.

Beyond Clean: Creating Moments of Joy 💙🦢

Environmental Services colleague Christopher Russell is proving that sometimes the smallest gestures can make a big difference for our patients.
Christopher, who typically works in the emergency department, has found a creative way to add an extra touch of care to patient rooms. When he arrives early for his shift, he uses the extra time to make towel animals for other departments, carefully folding towels into swans and placing them on freshly prepared patient beds.
It’s a simple surprise designed to bring a smile to the next patient who enters the room and a great example of Showing Up to create a welcoming environment.

Falls can happen at any age, but there are simple steps that can help reduce risk at home and in daily routines.

During Fall Prevention Awareness Week, take time to look for common hazards, such as loose rugs, poor lighting, cluttered walkways or missing handrails. Staying active, wearing supportive shoes and talking with your doctor about balance, vision or medication concerns can also help support safer movement.

Medical City Healthcare offers injury prevention resources designed to help you and your family take informed steps toward safety, mobility and independence.

Cancer can bring unexpected challenges — including emotional, practical and financial stress.

When Michelle Tutt, a colleague at Medical City Denton, was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma, she experienced how support beyond the bedside can make a meaningful difference. Through the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund, Michelle received financial assistance that helped ease burdens so she could focus on healing and her family.

For eligible HCA Healthcare colleagues and families facing hardship, the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund is one resource that may help during difficult times. Support resources can play an important role in helping people navigate the challenges that may come with a serious diagnosis.

Michelle’s story is a reminder that no one should have to face life’s hardest moments alone.

Fall football is back in action! 🏈 Whether it happens during a game, practice or another activity, a head injury should always be taken seriously.

Knowing the signs and symptoms of a concussion can help you act quickly. Symptoms are what the injured person feels, such as headache, dizziness or nausea. Signs are changes others may notice, such as confusion, balance problems or behavior that seems unusual.

If you suspect a concussion, have the athlete stop playing and seek medical attention right away.
