Safe Schools Summit
Hosted by the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP)
The Safe Schools Summit brought together school administrators, School Resource Officers, and law enforcement professionals to share resources, best practices, and emerging strategies to strengthen school safety across Connecticut.
Topics included:
Connecticut State Police β Responding to hate incidents through the Hate Crimes Investigative Unit, along with free digital literacy and public safety resources.
Connecticut Intelligence Center β Addressing the growing threat of online extremists targeting children and teens.
Emergency Management & Homeland Security β Updates on school security assessments, behavioral threat assessment training, and Text-to-911.
Connecticut Center for School Safety and Crisis Preparation at WCSU β Highlighting the Center's free school safety resources, training, and support available to Connecticut schools.
