Mayra never stopped playing with her grandkid.

She found ways to stay involved.

She found ways to keep up.

But carrying her without pain?

That was the part her body wasn’t letting her do.

And when something as simple as picking up your grandkid starts becoming something you have to think twice about, it hits differently.

Because for Mayra, this was bigger than pain.

She wanted to be the grandma who could pick her up, carry her, play with her, and be present without wondering how her body would feel afterward.

So we worked on helping Mayra move better, build strength, and create the capacity her body needed for the things that actually mattered to her.

Because the goal was never just getting Mayra through exercises in the clinic.

It was helping her get back to carrying her grandkid with confidence.

The biggest sign that pain is affecting you might be how much thinking it requires.

Before you say yes to something, you calculate.

How long will I be sitting?

How much walking is involved?

Will I regret this tomorrow?

Can I modify it if I need to?

When those questions become automatic, it’s easy to call yourself “functional” because you’re still getting through your day.

But constantly negotiating with your body is exhausting.

At Kinesis Chiropractic, we want to figure out why your body has stopped feeling dependable in the first place, so you can get back to making decisions based on what you WANT to do.

Not what you think your body will tolerate.

If your hips still feel tight even though you are doing mobility work, it is probably not because you need more reps.

It is because you have not earned the position yet.

When your hips do not have the mobility, your body will find a way to fake it. Most of the time, that means your low back starts doing the work.

So even though it looks like you are doing the exercise right, you are reinforcing the exact pattern that is causing your pain.

That is why your hips stay stiff and your back starts to hurt more.

The focus should not be on forcing the movement. It should be on building control in positions your body can actually handle first.

You are not your MRI.

It might say disc bulge, herniation, or rotator cuff tear and suddenly it feels like your body is broken.

But that image is just a snapshot, not the full story.

A lot of people with zero pain have the same findings. What actually matters is how your body moves, how it handles load, and where you’re compensating.

If your shoulder hurts, it might be coming from poor shoulder blade control. If your back hurts, it might be your hips not doing their job.

When you only focus on what the MRI says, you miss the real reason the pain started.

The good news is your body can change.

When you improve how you move, build strength in the right areas, and address the root cause, things start to feel better without jumping straight to invasive options.

If you keep stretching your sciatica and it is not getting better, there is a reason.

Sciatica is not a tight muscle problem. It is an irritated nerve.

So every time you aggressively stretch it, you are adding more tension to something that is already sensitive. That is why you feel that sharp, shooting pain or why it keeps coming back.

You might have tried adjustments, stretches, or basic exercises and maybe they helped a little. But if it is still there, something is being missed.

Because the real cause is not always the nerve itself. It could be your hips, your spine, even how your body moves as a whole putting constant stress on that area.

If you never address that, the cycle does not change.

You do not have to stop working out just because your back started hurting.

Zahira had been active her whole life, but like most people, she started managing the pain instead of fixing it. Stretching, foam rolling, pushing through.

Until it started affecting her workouts.

The real issue was not her back. It was limited hip rotation putting constant stress on it.

Once that was addressed, everything changed. No more stiffness getting out of the car. No more pain sitting at work. Back to training without limitations.

That is what happens when you stop chasing symptoms and actually fix the root cause.

If your pain is starting to affect your workouts or daily life, DM us 100 and let’s figure out what’s really going on.

One of the biggest things keeping people stuck with back pain isn't their back.

It's the fear of making it worse.

After a flare-up, everything starts to feel risky.

Lifting.

Bending.

Working out.

Even simple movements make you wonder...

"Am I about to throw my back out again?"

So you become more careful.

You move less.

You wait for the "perfect" time to get back to normal.

The problem is, your body gets really good at what you repeatedly ask it to do.

If all it practices is avoiding movement, it slowly loses the capacity to handle movement.

That's why so many people feel like they're starting over after every flare-up.

The goal isn't to wait until your back never hurts again.

The goal is to gradually rebuild your body's confidence so it can tolerate more without sounding the alarm.

That doesn't happen by pushing through pain.

And it doesn't happen by avoiding it forever.

It happens by understanding what your body can handle today... then progressing from there.

If your back is the thing deciding what you can and can't do... this is for you.

One of the hardest parts about back pain isn't the pain itself.

It's watching your world get smaller.

You stop lifting.

You stop working out.

You start thinking twice before playing with your kids, traveling, or even doing yard work.

So you do what everyone tells you to do.

Stretch.

Rest.

Take it easy.

Push through when you have to.

But if your back keeps flaring up every time you get active again, there's usually a reason.

Most backs that keep "going out" aren't just tight.

They've lost support.

Your hips, core, or other parts of your body stop doing their share, so your low back has to carry the load by itself.

That's why one person needs better hip mobility.

Another needs to rebuild strength.

Another needs to relearn how to hinge, squat, or lift without their back taking over.

The exercise that changed someone else's life might be the completely wrong place for you to start.

That's why we don't guess.

At Kinesis Chiropractic, we spend a full hour with every patient to find out what your body is actually missing, and this is what we call the root cause.

Then we combine hands-on treatment with the right movement and strength work so your back can stop being the thing that decides what kind of day you're going to have.

If you want to understand your back pain and what might actually be causing it, comment "GUIDE" below and we'll send you our free low back pain guide.

For Sherice, this was never really about being able to “play” with her daughter.

She could still be there.

She could still laugh with her.

She could still spend time with her.

But there’s a difference between being there and being able to jump into her world.

Getting down on the floor without thinking twice.

Staying there as long as she wants.

Getting back up without needing to plan how she’s going to do it.

Those little moments matter when you’re a parent.

Because your kids aren’t going to remember whether you had a perfect squat.

They’re going to remember that you got down there with them.

That’s what Sherice wanted back.

So at Kinesis Chiropractic, the goal was to build her body back toward the moments that actually mattered to her.
