If your sciatica gets worse the longer you sit, the problem is rarely that you're "sitting wrong."

Most people immediately start looking for a better chair.

A better cushion.

A different position.

But our patients tell us they can only shift around so many times before the symptoms start creeping down the leg again.

The reality is that sitting exposes a problem that's already there.

Your body should be able to tolerate sitting.

Just like it should be able to tolerate walking, exercising, bending, and lifting.

When it can't, that's usually a sign that something isn't doing its job well enough.

Maybe your core isn't providing enough support.

Maybe your hips have become stiff from years of sitting.

Maybe your body simply doesn't have the endurance to maintain positions for long periods of time.

That's why temporary relief often doesn't last.

If we never figure out why the nerve became sensitive in the first place, the symptoms tend to keep coming back.

At Kinesis, we focus on identifying what's driving the irritation, building capacity back into the body, and creating a plan that lasts beyond the flare-up.

You’re not training to compete. You’re training to live better.
This is how we help patients build strength that actually matters.

We’re talking about:
✔️ Picking up groceries without throwing your back out
✔️ Reaching overhead without shoulder pain
✔️ Carrying your kid without wincing
✔️ Going all day without crashing at 3 p.m.

💪 Deadlifts, overhead press, farmer’s carries—they’re not just for the gym.
They’re movement blueprints for real life.

The difference?
We teach your body to do them with the right control, so you’re not just strong in the gym—you’re strong when it counts.

🎥 Watch how we build strength for everyday life—safely, intentionally, and with purpose.
This is training for the real world.

🔁 Save this if your goal is to stay active, not just in your 30s—but in your 60s too.

Stretching won’t save your back

If you want a strong, injury-free low back in your 40s, 50s, and 60s, stretching alone isn’t enough.
Stretching can feel good — but it doesn’t teach your back how to handle life.

What actually keeps your back resilient is having the right support system around it.
Strong hips to share the load.
A core that stabilizes instead of bracing.
And a spine that knows how to move, not lock up.

Most people train randomly and hope their back “holds up.”
Smarter training means progressing the right things, in the right order, based on where your body is now.

That’s how you build a back that feels confident instead of fragile —
and why pain stops showing up every time you bend, lift, or train.

👇 If you want a plan built for your body, DM “PLAN”.

"I thought my back was the problem."

That's what Robin believed for years.

Because every time she tried to exercise...

Her back reminded her.

A workout would flare it up.

A lift would aggravate it.

Even when she wanted to stay active, there was always that voice in the back of her mind asking:

"Is this going to hurt later?"

Over time, the problem became bigger than back pain.

Robin stopped trusting her body.

She started questioning what she could and couldn't do.

And the active version of herself started feeling further away.

That's what pain takes from people.

Not just movement.

Confidence.

Freedom.

Identity.

But when we evaluated Robin, her back wasn't actually the place driving the problem.

Her hips weren't moving the way they needed to.

So every time she exercised, her back kept paying the price.

That's why chasing the painful area never gave her the lasting results she was looking for.

Once we improved how her hips moved, controlled force, and supported her body during exercise...

Everything started to change.

Not because we fixed her back.

Because we fixed the reason her back kept getting overloaded in the first place.

Today, Robin is back exercising with confidence.

Not constantly wondering if her body is going to let her down.

Because pain is usually the effect, not the cause.

And this is what we call the root cause.

One of the biggest mistakes we see is people spending all their time treating the place that hurts.

The knee hurts.

So they focus on the knee.

The back hurts.

So they focus on the back.

The shoulder hurts.

So they focus on the shoulder.

And sometimes that helps...

For a little while.

But our patients tell us the frustrating part is when the pain keeps coming back no matter how much attention they give it.

That's because pain is often the messenger, not the problem.

The body is a system.

When one area stops moving well, another area has to pick up the slack.

At first, your body adapts.

Then it compensates.

Then eventually, something starts hurting.

The painful area is usually the place that's working the hardest.

Not necessarily the place that started the issue.

That's why at Kinesis we don't just ask:

"Where does it hurt?"

We ask:

"Why is that area being forced to do more work than it should?"

Because when you find the real problem, everything else starts making a lot more sense.

And this is what we call the root cause.

DM us the word "100" if you're tired of chasing symptoms and want to find out what's actually driving your pain.

Back surgery wasn't the end of Oswaldo's story.

For a long time, he thought the surgery would be the thing that finally fixed his back.

But years later, he was still dealing with pain.

Still limited in the gym.

Still wondering why his body wasn't performing the way he wanted it to.

That's when he came to Kinesis.

When we evaluated Oswaldo, we weren't focused on the surgery.

We were focused on how his body moved now.

How he controlled movement.

How he generated force.

How he handled load.

Because while surgery can address a structural problem, it doesn't automatically restore strength, mobility, coordination, or confidence.

Those things have to be rebuilt.

So that's exactly what we did.

We worked on the areas his body was compensating through.

We improved how he moved.

And we built a plan around what Oswaldo wanted to get back to.

Today he's back training, lifting, and moving with confidence again.

Because the goal was never just to have a successful surgery.

The goal was to get his life back.

And this is what we call the root cause.

If your sciatica only shows up when you walk, that's actually an important clue.

Most people focus entirely on where the symptoms are.

The leg.
The glute.
The nerve.

But walking is one of the most coordinated movements your body performs.

Every step requires your hips, core, balance, strength, and coordination to work together.

When one of those pieces isn't doing its job well, something else has to pick up the slack.

Over time, that extra stress can irritate the nerve and create the symptoms you're feeling.

That's why so many people get temporary relief but never solve the problem long term.

The nerve isn't always the thing creating the issue.

Sometimes it's simply the thing paying the price.

At Kinesis, we look beyond where the symptoms are and identify why your body is creating those symptoms in the first place.

Because when you understand the root cause, you can build a plan that creates lasting change instead of temporary relief.

Most people think shoulder rehab is just doing exercises for the shoulder.

Band work.

Rotator cuff exercises.

A few stretches they found online.

And sometimes those things help.

But our patients tell us the frustrating part is when they keep doing all the "right" exercises and still can't get back to the things they love.

Because real rehab isn't about collecting exercises.

It's about solving a problem.

Every exercise should have a purpose.

Early on, that purpose might be reducing pain.

Then it might be restoring mobility.

Then rebuilding strength.

Then teaching the shoulder how to tolerate real life again.

The reason rehab often fails isn't because people aren't working hard enough.

It's because they're doing exercises that don't match what their body actually needs right now.

That's why every patient at Kinesis gets a plan built around their specific limitations, goals, and stage of recovery.

Because the goal isn't to get better at rehab exercises.

The goal is to get back to living your life without constantly thinking about your shoulder.

And this is what we call the root cause.
