GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide have been a game-changer for PCOS patients — restoring ovulation in over 60% of cases in recent studies. But they are not safe during pregnancy, and they have a long half-life.
The Endocrine Society and manufacturers recommend stopping GLP-1s at least 2 months before trying to conceive — not 2 weeks, not the month before. Two months.

This gives the medication time to fully clear your system before early embryo development. If you’re using a GLP-1 to prep for IVF, this timing has to be built into your protocol. Talk to your REI before you stop — the transition matters.
