As Kathy's vision continued to worsen during college, the challenges became greater, but so did her determination.

In this interview, Kathy shares how she refused to let vision loss change how hard she worked toward her goals. Even when things became more difficult, she kept pushing forward, adapting, and giving her best.

Her story is a powerful reminder that challenges may change the path, but they don't have to change the destination.

Adaptive sports and recreation can provide opportunities to stay active, build confidence, develop new skills, and connect with others.

Whether it's walking, swimming, goalball, tandem cycling, or another favorite activity, there are ways to adapt and keep moving.

At CDCVI, we're all about helping individuals discover what's possible.

💙🎉 LEARNING, LAUGHING & BUILDING CONNECTIONS! 🎉💙

Our students come to the Conklin Davis Center to learn valuable life skills they’ll carry with them for years to come but growth is about so much more than what happens in the classroom!

Having fun, building friendships, and creating meaningful connections are important parts of the journey, too.

Our events give students the opportunity to spend time with others who may face similar challenges while sharing the same goal: becoming more confident, independent, and empowered. 💪💙

And what better way to break up a five-day week than a little Wednesday Hump Day FUN?! 🎲🎶😄

It’s a chance to laugh, connect, kick back, enjoy one another’s company, and recharge so we can finish the week STRONG!

🧹🧺 **LEARNING LIFE SKILLS CAN BE FUN, TOO!** 🎶❤️

At Conklin Davis Center, we love to laugh, have fun, and get a little silly but behind the fun is an important purpose!

Our Activities of Daily Living (ADL)program helps students build essential skills like cleaning, cooking, laundry, money management, and independence. These are skills that help prepare our students to navigate everyday life with greater confidence.

And what better way to celebrate all that hard work than with a little music and laughter? 🎤🎶

Ms. Cindy, Ms. Cheryl, Melissa, Andres, Mara, and our team put on a fun lip-sync performance with a special appearance from Ziggy, aka “Zigalicious!" 🌟

Because building independence can include plenty of smiles along the way!

🃏🏆 **OUR FIRST UNO CHAMPIONSHIP WAS A HIT!** 🏆🃏

Our students had an amazing time competing in our very first UNO Championship! The evening was filled with laughter, friendly competition, plenty of excitement, and most importantly great sportsmanship! ❤️

While only one student walked away with the title of **UNO Champion**, every student who participated was a winner in our eyes. 🌟

Events like these are about so much more than a game. They’re an opportunity for our students to **connect, build friendships, practice social skills, and simply have FUN together!**

👏 Congratulations to our UNO Champion and to every student who helped make our first championship such a fun and memorable evening!

We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🃏❤️

One of the most special parts of our Open Mic Night was welcoming back Brittany, a graduate of our organization, who came out to join in the fun and participate! 🌟

Seeing our graduates return, reconnect, and continue to be part of the CDCVI community is always something worth celebrating. Brittany brought her energy and enthusiasm to the night, and we loved having her there! 🎤👏

🎤🎶 OPEN MIC NIGHT WAS SO GOOD, IT DESERVED ANOTHER POSTS!🎶🎤

We had SO many awesome moments from our first Open Mic Night that we couldn’t fit them all into just one post! 💙

From incredible performances and lots of laughter to cheering each other on, the energy throughout the night was something special. Everyone who stepped up to the mic brought their own personality, talent, and confidence and we loved every minute of it! 🌟👏

So, of course, we had to share **Part 2** with even more highlights from such a fun and memorable night!

Thank you again to everyone who participated, supported our performers, and helped make our first Open Mic Night such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🎤💙🎶
