This Muharram, The Mainstay Foundation, in collaboration with Roots, is proud to offer a dedicated sensory room designed to support families of children with special needs. Led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and supported by trained professionals and volunteers, the sensory room provides a safe, calming, and engaging space for children during the main program. Activities may include sensory play, movement breaks, calming tools, and structured support to help children feel comfortable. This space is created with the goal of giving all members of the family the opportunity to benefit from the nights of Muharram, while ensuring children receive the care and support they need in a sensory-friendly environment. A small room, a meaningful impact.

One of Rukaia’s greatest strengths is her ability to be observant, patient, and thoughtful in her approach. She is highly receptive to feedback and consistently implements procedures with accuracy and fidelity. Her commitment to learning and growth allows her to continually provide the best possible support to her clients.

Rukaia does an outstanding job creating meaningful learning opportunities throughout her sessions and consistently exceeds expectations by ensuring her learners have opportunities to build and practice new skills.
