We began the 2026 the same way we strive to begin every experience in our communities: with a thoughtful welcome.

As we celebrate 10 years of Solera and begin to solve for X in our equation for exceptional senior living, we started with one of the pillars at the heart of the Solera experience: .

A sound bath and chair massages offered our team space to pause, reset, and recharge after traveling to Philadelphia. Then, department leaders from our communities across the country gathered for dinner with peers who understand the opportunities, challenges, and realities of their roles.

Around each table, they shared ideas, built relationships, and made connections they can continue leaning on long after the Summit. Our corporate team members and senior mentors joined them to listen, learn, and support.

One year ago, on a Monday morning as our team traveled to Washington, D.C., for the 2025 Solera Innovation Summit, we launched The Meritage Project.

Today, our team is traveling once again—this time to Philadelphia for the 2026 Innovation Summit—and we’re marking the moment with the final episode of Season One.

In Behind the Problem Solver, host Phil Lord sits down with John Shafaee, Founder and CEO of ALIS by Medtelligent , to explore the story behind more than 20 years of innovation and leadership in senior living.

John reflects on immigrating to the United States from Iran as a child, becoming a translator and problem-solver for his parents, and unexpectedly finding his purpose in senior living. He shares the lessons that shaped ALIS, the people whose voices continue to challenge him and his belief that technology should not replace human connection—it should give humanity back to the people doing the work.

John’s episode is both a fitting conclusion to Season One and a natural bridge to what comes next.

Today, we’re so excited to announce Dom Reeder, a Life Enrichment team member and driver at Echo Lake as our company-wide Compassion Champion! His nomination came directly from resident Ron Mitala, who shared a moment from an outing to a concert at Immaculata University.

As residents returned to the van, Dom noticed Ron having difficulty navigating a rough, sloping walkway with his walker. He immediately came over to help Ron safely back to the van.

“I'd like to commend Dominic for going above and beyond his duties and caring for the safety of everyone on the trip,” Ron wrote.
