Hello to all 125 of you!! Wow, Thank you for being apart of the early stages of The Pickin Pendulum's journey. In place of Movement Monday we will be practicing Stillness Monday today, May 4th. 💜✨ This is a time for you to give attention to your home practice. The very foundation of a healthy yoga practice often begins at home.
Take a moment however long your day allows, even if it's just 5 minutes to be still. When you are in this moment of stillness I invite you to "witness consciousness" let go of the over thinking, allow yourself to absorb the smells, sounds, and sensations of that moment by letting go of movement. In Patanjali's Yoga Sutra this is referred to as 🌟citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ🌟 "In yogic philosophy, citta refers to the field of mind that includes thoughts, memories, emotions, and impressions. Vṛttis are its movements or fluctuations. Nirodhaḥ does not mean destruction or elimination, but cessation of compulsive dominance."
Remember, the goal of stillness is not to be perfect, the goal is to practice stillness.
