It is also a moment to acknowledge that the impact of racial trauma and inequity is not only historical. It continues to shape lived experiences today, including how people access care, safety, and support.

Cheyanne works with children, teens, and young adults (generally ages 5–24) who may be navigating big emotions, difficult experiences, or challenges that feel hard to put into words.

She offers supportive, practical care for:

Cheyanne integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief Strategic Family Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), always tailoring support to meet the needs of each individual and family.

Her approach is grounded in the belief that therapy should feel safe, supportive, and real — a space where clients can better understand themselves, build coping tools, and feel more steady in their everyday lives.

✨ Today marks 1 year in Detroit Lakes. ✨

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since we opened our second Bestow Counseling location.

When we made the decision to expand into the Lakes Area, it came from something simple: we saw the need and felt called to help. 🌿

Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of supporting many individuals and families in this community — helping more people access care, reducing wait times, and making therapy feel a little more reachable during seasons when support is needed most.

We’re incredibly grateful to be part of the Detroit Lakes community. The trust people have placed in us, the referrals, the conversations, and the encouragement along the way have meant so much to our team.

Having two locations has also helped us create more flexibility and accessibility for clients across the region — especially during the busy summer and lakes season when life can feel both full and overwhelming.

This past year has reminded us that community matters. Connection matters. And having a place to land matters.
