We’re excited to share some wonderful news from our team at Mindful Hive.

Our intern, Anastasia, has officially passed her NCE exam and will be graduating in August with her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This is a significant professional milestone and reflects her dedication, skill, and commitment to the work of supporting individuals and couples in meaningful growth and healing.

Anastasia will be continuing with us as she transitions into her LPCA licensure. She is currently accepting new clients for both couples and individual therapy with evening availability.

While she is completing the final steps toward full licensure, sessions are offered at a reduced intern rate of $40, with a sliding fee scale available to help increase accessibility. Once licensed, she plans to accept all major insurance plans.

It can feel confusing when something as simple as saying “no” brings up anxiety, guilt, or the urge to over-explain.

That’s often not about the moment you’re in - it’s about what your nervous system learned earlier on about keeping relationships safe.

If boundaries once led to conflict, withdrawal, or disconnection, of course they don’t feel easy now.

So instead of forcing yourself to “just set better boundaries,” try a different starting point:

What feels just safe enough to express?

Healing boundaries aren’t built all at once.
They’re built in small, tolerable steps your system can actually hold.

And over time, they start to feel less like risk - and more like self-trust.

Trauma doesn’t just live in memories - it often lives in the nervous system, showing up in thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and patterns that can feel hard to break.

If you’ve ever thought, “Why am I still reacting like this?” or “I know I’m safe now, so why doesn’t it feel that way?” - there’s nothing wrong with you. Your system adapted to protect you.

Healing isn’t about forcing yourself to “move on.” It’s about gently supporting your mind and body as they process what never had the chance to fully settle.

You’re not too sensitive. You’re not broken. You’re responding to what you’ve lived through.
